Speakin' Tha Truth

Since my intended ride of San Juan did not pan out, i headed out over to El Moro to enjoy the awesome weather, views and low traffic conditions there during weekdays. Started out at Ridge Park and headed down the fireroad to Redtail Ridge and down Rattlesnake... the mustard grass was super tall, at the end of the trail and was well over my head in height. it was pretty weird not being able to see anything on that fast fireroad descent down towards Mach One. From there, i climbed up I Think I Can and to the top of Moro Ridge. I had talked to Dean earlier in the day and he was planning on coming in to El Moro from BFI with Lynn so i headed over and down BFI to meet up with them. Since Lynn was running late and Dean wanted to check out his new hydration bag, they ended up going up I Think I Can as well so i had to climb up and just met them at the first camp ground. There was a couple that hiked up and set up camp there, so i chatted with them a bit. It was their first time at El Moro and was surprised how close to civilization it was.
Once Dean and Lynn made it up the hill we continued on and hit Missing Link and Fenceline as an out and back and then headed over to Laguna Coast towards Boat Canyon and Laguna Beach eventually. We ended the ride with some fine italian food at Ginas and we were graced with a visit from Shannon and Bruce "the Juice" ![]() singletrack leading to the chunky section of Rattlesnake ![]() mustard in full effect these days ![]() view of newport from the top of BFI ![]() ![]() my trusty steed ![]() looking over towards laguna coast ![]() Dean and Lynn climbing up Moro Ridge ![]() some people wandering in the hillsides along Emerald Canyon ![]()

El Moro is beautiful right now. I love the (now) single track at the bottom of Rattlesnake - it's like a rollercoaster with the mustard over your head :-)
