Default RR Greg Oreo first MTB Ride... Ever

Well Dirt Vert and I took Oreo on his first mountain bike ride...ever at EM. The day was yesterday and we got to riding at about 5:35PM it was such a nice day. So we all met up at Ridgepark. Greg informed us that this was going to be his first ride ever so we thought it should be a good idea to just stay on the fireroads. Greg was a real trooper and was hanging in their. Dirt Vert (Doug) and myself forgot to take into account that this was Greg's first ride so we kind of forgot about time . We were telling Greg that we need to pick the pace up a bit because its getting dark, our bad . Gregg was telling us to go ahead and take off but homie don't play that. Gregg informed me that he thought he was going to throw up I told him if he did I was going to take a picture of it and post it over STR .

Long story short we ended up making it back with no daylight left and Greg was a real trooper and I hope he liked EM. It was real cool meeting Dirt Vert and Greg Oreo. Oh Greg the most important thing, next time bring some water .

Thumbs up Good job, grasshopper

David, sharing the love with another newbie is what it is all about. I'm sure that Greg was very thankful that you guys took him under your wing. Coming back in the dark (classic) on his very first ride!... He'll be talking about this one for a while.... just don't try this same stuff with females... they won't be back...

I hope you didn't scare him off. Although from the pics looks like he was having a painfully good time.
Reminds me of my first ride at El Moro. 2Wheel_Lee was our guide, we got stuck in the dark with no moon, we had to follow the electrical poles out. I remember getting to a section where we saw a bunch of little dark rocks but they were MOVING?! Then I heard it, FROGS!! Next thing I know something under my tire pops! Needless to say I am still scarred from that ride but I still love El Moro!

Oreo there are many more adventures and good times to be had with mtb. and STR. Just bring your water and sense of humor.

right on FYM, did you show him how to 'turtle'?

in all seriousness, that was really cool of ya to show oreo around, and just stick to fireroads, not everyone is that patient and i know i probably would have taken him on some s/t, lol.

keep on truckin' oreo!

first of all, greg had extensive mtb experience (well, at least one time at fairview park). and dave's camera definitely had some lighting issues, because it was still "dusk" when we finished, not dark. overall, it was a good successful first ride and we all learned something- if you puke on a ride the whole world will about it know about it the next day, but if you're not nauseous when you ride, you're not trying hard enough...
