Bill, did the trail w/SDYeti last year and loved it (because I am a sick man some say). It was damn challenging, esp in the "staircase" and "spine" areas that you describe so well. I also remember there being a rather long set of climbs to get to the top. Hope to see you back there cleaning it soon.

Bill, sorry about your crash and I am glad Jerry was with ya. I could not think of anyone better to have been there.
That trail has not been on my list and now it is even further down the list. Get well soon my friend. Dean

Wow man, that sucks. That's almost identical to the injury I took in November at Bootleg. Kissed a rock, same lip, same spot. I only got 15 stitches though.
It looked bad right after the crash, but it's gotten progessivly better looking. My plastic surgeon told me to massage the scar 3x's a day, 5 minutes each time, for 9 months to keep the scar soft. And, its really important to wear sun block with "UVA", not just UVB, every minute your in the sun.

Great place for a scar Bill, it just ads to your already superhuman character and offers another good story to tell ***scratching Goat Camp off my to do list***
Glad your teeth are still intact. Get well soon so you can post the video. Will it just end with the faceplant? |

That trail looks and sounds downright dangerous. Does anyone ever ride it without crashing? It's good to see at least you and your friends had the sense to wear body armor. Seeing your own injury must have been frightening. Heal up and get back on that horse.

Very sorry to hear about the mishap...but, that's definitely no way to treat your face! You keep this up and you won't get as old as me. BTW, I get the "You have a wife and responsibilities, bucko!" talk about once a month... guess it comes with age.
We'll ride soon... come back to safe San Clemente Single Tracks ... you'll just fall in the bushes there! Heal quickly bro... ![]()

The video is a bit disappointing as the HDV camcorder has a 1.5 second buffer before writing the video to tape. So unlike standard definition video where you see the hit and the momentary blurp, with HDV you loose the video from the time of the hit and everything 1.5 before that hit. So what I have is me riding along and starting to go array and blurp and then me laying on the ground. |

Holy crap Bill! Facial injuries suck but definitely glad to hear it wasn't worse (bone). White Tank has been on my list and drove right past it on the way home from Gallup this past week. I definitely need to take my FF out of the closet and start wearing it on exposed trails, even though I'm confident in my technical riding.
