I signed up for the early start on the CC. I rode last year and did not finish
Even not finishing was worth it though. I made the first cutoff at the bottom of the motorway, then just crawled up Maple to four corners and stopped. This year will be VERY different. ![]() |

Jamis XLT huh? Wow that's going to be a 5" travel SS! Post some pics when you're done. So I guess you're not too worried about it bobbing too much when you hammer out of the saddle. I always thought those VPP bikes like the Blur or Intense would make excellent FS-SS.

Yup, you must be able to do Blackstar to the MOtorway in 4:30 if you do the early start. You then pretty much have the rest of the day to get up Maple Springs to the PEak and down Upper/Lower Holy Jim. Break it donw into 2 rides. Go out and do Blackstar o the Motorway(22 miles). See how you feel. Next time, go out and ride Maple Springs to the Peak(12.5 miles up). Or do Maple Springs to the Peak and then down HOly JIm. Do it as a shuttle or ride all around. We have been doing the last ride above, but riding our bikes back to Silverado via Santiago Canyon road. The extra mileage and road riding will help for the VQ. According to Warriors Society there is still room left to sign up for the VQ/CC
Vision Quest - 34 spots left (150 total) Counting Coup - 23 spots left (100 total) "cough" rob & craig "cough" It'd be wayy cool to get some more STR riders doing this
