Thanks for the RR, Neil... the ride looked like a blast! I was a short ways off at Caspers with my girlfriend, killing my old Manitou forks coming down Star Rise.

Thanks everybody for the ride today....just enough tempo to not overwork my lungs after everything they have been thru with the bug. Could have done without the foliage but my tick inspection came up empty
![]() kona dupee, keep at it....soon you will learn to stay upright...young grasshopper. Looking forward to the next ride......maybe I should go look for some Irish attire for this weekend ![]() Till next time....stay "tickless" ![]()

I'd rather be climbing...
|
I had no clue that the original locale had been cancelled, and simply showed up in San Clemente with a buddy to try and forget the sad fact that I couldn't make it all the way up to SART.
Imagine my surprise when 20 STR peeps come flying down the hill. SCORE! Great ride all. It's been a while since I've heard that much smack-talking in one day (with a lot of it directed at me--and rightly so. "Damn Dan, you've spent more time on your back today than your sister does at a frat party!"). P.S. We need a Hawaiian shirt intervention for Mike (1fg rider). He's starting to infect others.

Awesome plan B! Very challenging on the SS. 10 miles and I felt worked! Definitely a great place to ride with one gear. I did my best to clear out the low hanging branch by hammering out of the saddle and knocking it with my head
As Neil said, "how does the shortest guy in the group hit his head?"![]()

The G is for Gear

Well we started off with 22 riders, lost 1 due to mechanicals and picked up 3 along the way. Great trail although the brush was crazy tall. Some places it was chest high and you couldn't see trail beneath you. Just hold on and hope there's no rut, root or rock ahead.
Drive down was foggy but turned out really nice before we rolled out Jason#1 in front riding his recently converted SS Jason#2 Joe popping out through the brush Camp Pendelton in the background Sam grinding up on his rigid SS 29er Gratuitous handlebar shot Jason #3 (Pugz) with some war wounds. Note the shredded shorts too. Last regroup before heading back to the street. Going back out for more ![]() Gary didn't get enough of workout on the trail so he decided to add some crunches before finishing up. ![]() Only 10 miles today, but still a workout with the climbs and brush hampering our progress. Great time hanging with the STR bubbs. Pugz did great today and Art finally made an appearance after the Rwanda ride. Looking forward to our original plan of riding SART. |
