Default Mtn bike trip ideas...

I love camping and I love biking and I'm wondering if there is anything somewhat local (I only get two days off and might be able to drive to the destination after work the evening before) to camp and ride a bit? I was thinking along the coast perhaps but I'm really willing to go just about anywhere in SoCal. Anything in Joshua Tree, Desert, or local mounatins (Idywild is probably the only one I KNOW of for sure)? Thanks.

Most of the long weekend camping stuff we do in So-Cal is snow bound. Few more months and there will be some excellent options. This is the time of year to hit Arizona and Utah.

I was thinking of trying to get out to Flagstaff but that's a REALLY long drive and I know next to nothing about the area. (one of the reasons I'm nervous about doing a Idywild by myself).

Flagstaff will be unrideable...the good stuff (Mt Elden) is at 7-8000ft. St. George/Hurricane stuff is the better bet or Sedona and Prescott.

You can always do a long Noble Weekend...

Next weekend is both the MTBR AZ Spring Fling and Keyesville Classic.

Have you checked out along the Sunrise Highway, by the BLT.
Or the Cuyamaca's?

Dude, hit up the Hurkey Creek ride with us next month. I think it is April 4-5, only about 35 or so of us will be there. You will love it!! Hope to see you there!!

Yeah, the wife and I used to ride there years ago.
Then they closed our fav. trail, now there's some singletrack open. There's plenty of riding around there, and up through the lagunas, just gotta get the right maps. Check-out Mt Bike Bills site for some ideas of the riding out there.
