Default Orange Y Bmx First Ride for Neil & Maddie

Since Neil has hung up his XC racing shoes for flat pedals and a full face, i had to come out and check out the nonsense that has overcome him. i believe he said "forget about that xc crap, i'm jumpin and bmx racing" It would also be Maddie's first time out on a bmx track of any kind. She turned out having fun and kept pushing herself to try and make it up the big hills. If she didn't get a clean run, she wanted to do another lap until she did not fall and made it the entire way through without stopping. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but with the insane winds we had yesterday it really made things a lot harder.
Anyhow, it looks like Neil is hooked on bmx racing and i foresee 2-3 new bmx bikes within the next month

momma, maddie and penny

neil gets the lead out of the gate

maddie takes the inside line and passes both big guys

she is kick jared's butt and he looks at her in awe

neil coming in for the kill

he's catching up

maddies got rhythm

gate start

Maddie and Meg who was showin off the goods to all the boys on the track

XC is dead,long live BMX
I cannot think of anything better then spending time with the family and friends, especially when bikes are involved!
Just like snowboarding, we did not want to push her into "our" things but as I had hoped she liked it....she's has fun, mommy and daddy have fun!
I am on day 3 of BMX, only 2 bikes so far!
Thanks for the pix and RR Nam

Thumbs up Good Times - Proud Mommy!

Thanks Nam for posting up the pictures!

Maddie was supposed to attend a clinic with Daddy on Sat, but when she rounded the outside of the track and saw the "Big Bumps" she was not doing anything (trust me).

So after much discussion on Sunday, Megan stepped up and took Maddie out on the track - for her very 1st time! she loved it.

The 1st 30 mins of practice are just for kids 10 and under with no gates. Once the big kids came on the track and the gates went up I thought she'd be done - To my Surprise she wanted back on the track - Daddy would hold her at the gate and there she'd go! She rode the whole practice and when it was time to get off the track and start the races she wanted to race too!

She's now a member and actually has her own # for the season #444, watch out Neil - Maddie's coming to get you!

I am so glad to see that she had a good time! I look forward to see her at the track!

Neil, what kind of cruiser were you riding? Might this lead to Adrenaline carrying BMX stuff?

Hey Neil,

I took my 3 kids over to Whittier Narrows BMX a few weekends ago. My 6 & 7 year old boys took turns running the track along with my 11 year old daughter. They had a blast! My wife even took a few runs. Nothing feels better than trailing your kid on a bmx bike on a bmx track and they think they are just kicking dad's ass! Now that the rain is gone for now, I gotta get the bunch back on the track! Maybe we'll head down to Orange and run some laps with you and Maddie!

I thought the geometry looked a bit 80s.

You know that you can never have too many bikes, right? Need? That's all relative!

Neil needs some checkered tube, stem, and handlebar pads for that bike. Break out the V-Bars

Oh no Someone is in trouble...maybe someone needs to sell 1 out his 30 bikes to get this new project.

Hey if you want to adopt me I need a new bike as well. I will be in bed by 900PM and will take out the garbage and free babysitting, plus no back talk and drama.

The Floval Flyer is a sweet looking bike, and the MSRP on it is really nice, too. But I wouldn't turn my nose up from the Free Agent, either, (although the 2008 models look like they could use some real help in the graphics dept), especially if the price is right. They're good bikes, too.

The geo specs aren't listed for the Free Agent, but they are for the SE.
