Was the bike she rode borrowed, or was that hers?

BTW, make sure if you're saying that they have to do a good job, that there is a measurement in place to evaluate good or bad, such as good grades, chores, dinners, and flowers.

Neil, at least you have advanced bike riding experience, so the skills will come in time. Riding the BMX track is a completely different ball of wax, so to speak. I'm even struggling a bit getting my timing and coordination together.

The Free Agent she was riding is hers.

Truthfully all we care about as parents for Madeline is that she's having fun and tries things. If she likes them great! It all helps build her self esteem. We are very lucky that Madeline has decided that she enjoys some of the same things we do.

Neil on the other hand, knows what he needs to *do good* to get rewarded

Hey is this the Bmx track on chapman and the 55.

Iv been wanting to go down there with my camera and try to get some action shots but im unsure of how that would be welcomed or not,
anyone know if photographers are welcomed out there to take pix or not.

I've seen many photographers on the infield area of the track, so I don't think it's a problem. It wouldn't hurt to ask, though. It's a fairly informal environment.

Mudman, you mentioned that your newly developed 4X skills are helping your DH riding. Just the same, riding BMX tracks will help your 4X and DH riding. Additionally, racing BMX helps both disciplines even more. Ask guys like Brian Lopes, Eric Carter, and Rich Houseman. Basically, the more bike handling skills you have under all disciplines, the better overall rider you'll be. I know I surely couldn't ride how I do without my BMX background - albeit that it was well over 20 years ago, but as they say, you never forget how to ride a bike!

haha I'm working on getting my hands on a BMX as we speak. The BMX track may be an issue, just because of my work hours. I can probably do both Fontana during the day and BMX on Friday nights but its a lot of driving.

My nephew (Kris Fox) has moved to Chula Vista and is training for the Olympics.

My gloating:
Kris Fox 18 yrs. old Pro Elite
Accomplishments
Amatuer: -2-time ABA State Champion (2001 & 2003)
2-time ABA World Champion (2004 & 2005)
NBL National #1 Champion (2005)
6-time ABA National Age Group (2001-2006)
Nominated member of the ABA Terrible 10 List (2005)
2-time qualified rider of the ABA N.A.G. 5 Challenge (2004 & 2005)
Junior Elite: -2006 UCI BMX World Championships - Sao Paulo, Brazil - 5th place -2006
UCI BMX World ranking 2nd for U.S.A
2007 UCI BMX World Championships - Victoria, Canada - 8th place
2007 UCI BMX World ranking 3rd for U.S.A

From FAT BMX website:

Over in the USA a complete replica of the 2008 Beijing Olympic BMX track was built in Chula Vista and the top USA riders have a cabin close to the track where they can live in and live the BMX life towards the big day in August. The track was opened by some US Cycling bigwigs and BMX legends like Toby Henderson, Eddy King, Stu Thompson, Dave Clinton and Perry Kramer. It was a slow start for the Americans to get their Olympic program going but it looks like they've got everything they need now.

Very proud, I wish had a fraction of his skills, he never runs brakes on any of his bikes. Races in jeans unless his sponsors make wear their shorts.

He is such a shy, quite kid growing up you would have never figured. Dirttepeedo knows Kris from the local BMX tracks. My sister has asked if I would go to Beijing with him this August if he goes...could be a interesting trip.

Wow those names bring back some serious memories. My parents never really got me into BMX but I bought BMX Plus (I loved the cartoon guy at the end of the mags) every chance I could and even rode around on a while Stu Thompson bike for a long time.

BMX sounds fun but I think I'll stick to riding the Chameleon 4x bike. I need to get it a bit more set-up but it'll be a while before I get a full on BMX bike....the wife would kill me. I keep telling her I'm done. I wish the Orange track was a bit closer Friday night traffic to get out there from Temecula BITES!!!!

So let me get this straight cruiser bikes are BMX for adults with 24" tires right?

I love the pictures, its great to see the next generation of riders havin' a blast!

riding BMX makes me realise how spoiled we are to have full suspension bikes. My 4X bike already puts a lot of stress on my wrists and elbows.
