Default El Moro/Laguna Solo ride

with the weather being so nice i figured it would be a perfect day to go ride my new bike! i did not see any trail closed signs up so i went ahead and road the fire road in from ridge park and patrolled fenceline and missing link a few times. After making sure hikers were on the right trails i headed over to Laguna Coast... now i was thinking about hitting T&A, but i really didn't want to climb willow... i ended up taking old emerald down and then heading to emerald canyon out and back. The climb out of the canyon sucked, but thats normal... wasn't up for trying to climb bvd... i was almost to bommer? when there was a dead mouse on the trail... i poured out a lil water for the fallen bubb and made my way back to ridge park...

a view of the hills from ridge park.... is that s/t on the right legal?

little bit of local art on display

emerald canyon has some sweet buff singletrack

i thought this lone tree up in the hillside was pretty cool

my new bike gets its first scratch.....damn you chain suck!

more s/t goodness

RIP bubb

ooooo STR member sighting!

I was just their yesterday. Its was sooo green and at the bottom of BVD in the canyon the trail was almost nonexistant due to the overgrowth

I like Emerald Canyon don't see people down there often. I have not been brave enough yet to ride the fenceline to the right and drop into the EC tennis courts and ride out to Highway 1. I have ran into a few MTbers that live in Emerald Bay and they have established a trail around the fence that was not there before. Wonder how tight security is, they must see people coming out the Highway 1 gate on bikes all the time.

good times- except for the rodent, which i think is a wood rat. the s/t to the right from ridge park is "better than nothing". it drops into deer canyon and is not legal, unfortunately. the signs were ripped out a few months back from that trailhead, nbtd, and marie's. maybe the rat knew too much...
