RR: Noble Canyon 2/28/2008

I couldn't get any takers to go with me today, so I went out anyways and rode from Pine Valley. I didn't stop to take any pics on the way up. Conditions were great. I started around 10:00AM and got to the trailhead at the top at Sunrise Hwy around 11:15.

It was quiet, didn't see anyone on the trail or at the trailhead. This guy was the only one making noise:


I went into the first of 4 switchbacks a little hot and missed the turn so I decided to stop and take a pic, and then nailed the next 3 switchbacks.

And looking down - this is one of my favorite sections of the trail, although one can fairly say "it's all good"

ground is still frozen at night up there if you want green your going to have to bring your own

Allison, it's not muddy except for a few little puddles here and there, but overall the conditions were prime. It is "green" relative to some years in the past (although maybe not in the way mtbcat was thinking).

I did notice a lot of pines growing up along the slopes and in the meadows as I rode up the climb. So, the rains have helped as it looks like things are coming back.
