A Beautiful Day in Aliso
So I was inspired by Jman's thank you thread to get up early and head over to Aliso... There was frost on the grass and a chill in the air but it felt soo good just to get out and ride. Not train, not race just ride with no agenda accept a timely return home to get my work done in the home office. I am headed to Chicago for a week so it was so rewarding to have such a beautiful day. I ended up riding from the Church parking lot over to Meadows and picked up a bit of water as my shoes brushed the overgrown grass along the trail, I have not seen Aliso this green since I do not know when... Headed up Meadows and everything is great, the chill is going away, the dirt is tackey but not a glimps of mud, it was simply amazing out there although it looks like many have chosen to short cut many of the switchbacks in the bottom section,,, anyway the views were spectacular, you could see Catalena just as clearly as you could see the Santa Ana's the other direction, not to mention the snow on Baldy simply 360 degrees of why we live here in So Cal... Headed back down Meadows and out toward Wood canyon.
Hung a left to head up the canyon, Left and up Dripping Cave, up Mathis, down Cholla, Coyote , Dripping and out to the car and off to work. the views were spectacular, the people were all smiles from ear to ear and life was great... Now on to Mother Nature PRON

Looks beautiful - I can't believe how much it's greened up in the last couple weeks since I rode there last.

a little ealry there just starting to show up should be prime in a couple weeks I will be heaidng out to mathews to look for boas alot in the next couple weeks

what snakes are native to Aliso? and would you encounter snakes on places suck as Rock-it where there may be a risk of running them over? I know people bomb down those trails inclucing myself- and snakes aren't the easiest to spot when your on the move.
