Had an awesome time Tris and his gang on Saturday. Tris, thanks for putting this one together. Great seeing you, Matt, Sean, June, and John again. Always a pleasure to ride with the K gang
I don't have much of a ride report, since I don't really remember what trails we were on. All I know is that from Sunset we parked on Capri and Amalfi and we did Sullivan Ridge and part of Backbone. As I mentioned, the conditions were perfect all around. Great scenery, trails were nicely packed with not a whole lot of mud, and the weather was in the low 60's. Didn't see any rain until we started climbing back to our cars on the street. Here are some of the pictures I took:After entering the fireroad and riding for about 1.5 miles, Matt and I took a single track that went down into the canyon. Parts of it were not rideable due to a huge rut that ran in the middle of the trail. Even walking was difficult. After that the trail got a little better ![]() Once on the creek below, the trail was more rideable with a mellow and steady climb with lots of water crossings. Here's Matt cranking it up ![]() ![]() Once we met the rest of the group at the fireroad again, we ran into another short and fun single track. June and Tris: ![]() Sean, June and Tris taking a small break ![]() ![]() Beginning of yet another fun single track ![]() ![]() Tris back out on the fireroad ![]() Matt, Sean and I then hooked up with another single track to meet the rest of the group out on the fireroad. This section was awesome ![]() ![]() ![]() Sean on the switchback ![]() Me leaving the singletrack and into the fireroad again ![]() ![]() After the "hub", we hooked up with part of backbone (I think). You can only be like Mikey if you ride more then once a month! What did you do, bribe your wife again?
Looks like you guys had a great time. If I'd known there was going to be Korean BBQ after the ride, I would of joined you .

I think this would be a perfect time to do it. I can see how some of those areas would be very dry and lose in the summer.

![]() I don't hear you riding the trails anymore. Want to sell me your Turner...my wife needs a bike. You can stick to your roadie ways ![]() I'll be honest, I don't know the name of this trail. Guess I was just having too much fun enjoying the scenery. It was the third single track we hit off of the ridge... Perhaps someone else can chime in and help us out with the name...You will not be dissapointed. The trails we hit were not too technical but very enjoyable ![]() |
