What you can't see in the final was when "mohawk guy" passed me on the doubles, he landed with his bar on my right arm. I was pretty sure I was going to go down. The bump a little bit later was clean, or at least as clean as he had been previously.
![]() ![]() After I finished, I realized that I was in an easier gear than I was supposed to be. I'm not sure if it started off that way, or if it shifted in one of the three contacts (we also banged up a bit going into the first turn). I just wished we had age divisions. It's a little scary riding out there with guys who are a lot younger.

I could kinda see that bump you're talking about Lee, came back with a great move though, holding your line on the inside. Great job!

So bummed to have missed this one. I had planned to do every Winter Series race this season. I had a good time practicing on Saturday morning, but started feeling a little "off" on the way to work. Just kept feeling worse until I woke up Sunday morning with a 102º fever. I ended up spending the day under 4 blankets shivering and sleeping on the couch instead of racing.
![]() See you all out there at the next one!

Missed you all this weekend! Eric was sick as you know, and I felt on the verge of getting sick. So while Eric was sleeping, I pounded the liquids and a couple packets of Emergen-C. So far so good!
Looking forward to the last one! See you all there! ![]() |

None of it was dirty, though, just very aggressive. Although that kid (not the one who I bumped with) who went from lane 4 on the start to a foot away from the very left edge of the course by the second jump wasn't so friendly. That was a deliberate jam. I think a few people will be gunning for that kid at the next race. I think all of the expert races are about like that. I'm not so sure I'm up for that kind of stuff all the time. My heart still starts racing every time I think about that final.

Oh, and something I forgot. I didn't know the reason why mohawk guy got fourth at round #3, because I thought he was right behind me. Well, apparently, he said, I took him out on the doubles going into the third turn. He said he was trying to set me up for a pass, but my rear wheel clipped his front, causing him to go down. OOPS! Sorry! I apologized to him, but he said it was clean.
