Default Pisgah North Carolina

Thought I'd share my past weekends ride. Great weather (50-60 degrees) for some sweet SE singletrack. (there is some SoCal content).

Cane Creek boyz brought a little bit of bling with them for the b-day boy!

Daniel flew in from Whitehorse Canada for the ride. (he's actually here to train - dood placed like 5th overall in the Trans-Rockies race)

CCDB guru - Malcolm from Cane Creeks ride

Heading out

Found some Ice higher up

Hisory lesson from Malcolm on the Bent Creek trails

The reason we ride here - Green's Lick trail. About a mile of endless jumps

It was a Turner-fest

Socal local - on hand for the fun (on white RFX)

Ride profile

Next day we went a little more remote
Starting up the fire road - this began 14mi of climbing

on to the single track

Stopped for Lunch here

Last stop at the top - don't ask how the RV got there??

Built a fire to warm up for the 6mi DH - some folks took this too far.

My only pic from the DH - having too much fun!

Pisgah is one of my favorite trail systems. I've been there a few times and enjoyed every minute.

I'll be back there in April for a few days following the Cohutta 100.

Nice pics! You should add a disclaimer though:

"This ride report in no way implies I think North Carolina is better than Southern California"

By the way, have you ever ridden the mountain bike loop in camp Lejuene? There was another cool spot down there by one of the colleges, but I heard it was bulldozed.

LOL - you opened that can of worms and I'm not getting involved! Bill was our token SoCal rider so that kind-of makes it relevant.

Camp Lejeune?

Pisgah has been on my to-do list for a long time! Will a guide be hard to find when I do go?

That sucks, I came face to face with a bear at Dupont. Not sure who scared who. Awesome ride once I cleaned my shorts.

You must not know many Marines

I was born there when my dad was in the Marines (not that I have ever been back)

Ask Speckledtrout, she is from Jacksonville area

Marines - you mean that little cast-off division of the Navy? (I'm ex-Navy)
