Bummed to miss the rest of the ride! Well at least with the great ride reports I get to internet ride it!

Thanks guys, My back is fine now! Just a little pain on my hamstring. I did a 50 mile road ride yesterday to Mill Creek Summit and it hardly bothered me at all. It only hurts when I walk! If I had it to do over again I would have skipped riding up that icy road!

Thanks for organizin it Brian! I look forward to the next one! Maybe later in the spring we can do the Strawberry ride to Valley Forge.

I think I might be able to pull off another bikepacking trip in late May. Not sure if it will be May 24-25 or May 31 - June 1.

I like the idea of SART or Buckhorn Trail. Or maybe we can do some western Sierra stuff.

Those dates may fall between my coast ride and hike , but it's too soon for me to tell. Depending on where the trip is, we might consider a 2-night/3-day trip. With the extra daylight at that time, a Friday afternoon ride in of a few hours could get us going somewhere and back out on Sunday afternoon. Just a thought.... I really enjoyed that trip.

I was tip toeing throughout that hike and the hike a bike out. There were no leaves but I have learned what that stuff looks like even when dormant. I noticed both of you guys walking through the stuff all the time. I really hope neither of you get it badly.

When I got home I sprayed myself down with citrus cleaner before showing and rinsed with cold water. It felt good in all my cuts.

At this point the best thing you can do is take a histamine blocker like Benadryl.

I don't have a bad case... just a couple of square inches total. If you remember, I was completely covered when we were doing that hike. The place I do have it the worst is along where the waistband of my shorts would rub, so that's got me a bit confused.

I did do a technu cool shower when I got home, but only on the hands, arms and legs as I would usually do. I didn't do the waist and that's where I got it.... somehow? I don't remember dropping pants and raising shirt and rolling around in it . Probably had some on the jacket and sweated it down to the waist on the climb out is all I can think.

I don't doubt it... your instructions were brief and we were running out of daylight. Next time

I noticed my first steak of PO bumps. I had a 1" section of exposed skin on Sunday morning. I remember when the branch rubbed my leg. Bastard plant. PO is the one plant I hate more than Yucca. Though maybe not as much as Fucca Yucca.

How is young Fucca doing these days? Still getting the golden shower of hits?

We have worked out our problems, appearantly I have softened and I have become attached to Fucca. He is a little lonely so I have offered to bring home some friends. I have been looking for a small sage brush or maybe a prickly pear cactus.

Sad to hear.... remember what Fucca will be one day, a mean nasty mountain-bike avenging warrior of the plant kingdom! Youth is innocence, I guess, but he'll grow out of it.

Which reminds me... very little yuccapuncture from the Idlehour trail. There were a few but not too bad or difficult to get around.
