Default Del cerro / PV update?

anyone have any update about del cerro? last I heard it was temporarily closed to bikers n hikers. so far its my fav trail since its the closest. Im tired of riding LA river/710

It's still closed except the burma rd fireroad. There is a VERY important public workshop/city council meeting on February 23rd. Where the public, CORBA PV and other groups will address the City Council with regard to the PUMP committee's final recomendation as well as current closures etc. Information as sent to me from the RPV list server is as follows:

NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes will conduct an adjourned meeting on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center Community Room located at 31501 Palos Verdes Drive West to review and consider the Public Use Master Plan (PUMP) Committee’s recommended Trails Network Plan for the City’s Natural Communities Conservation Plan’s (NCCP) Portuguese Bend Nature Preserve. The proposed Trails Network Plan to be considered by the City Council identifies the recommended trail routes and trail uses (pedestrian, equestrian, and bicycle) for the greater Portuguese Bend Nature Preserve. <A title=blocked::http://www.palosverdes.com/rpv/plann...TWORK-PLAN.pdf href="http://www.palosverdes.com/rpv/planning/planning-zoning/TRAILS-NETWORK-PLAN.pdf">Click here to view the PUMP Committee’s recommended Trails Network Plan. The proposed Trails Network Plan may also be viewed at the Planning Department at the Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall, at Ladera Linda, at Hesse Park, or the Palos Verdes Peninsula Main Library.
All interested parties are invited to submit written comments and to attend and give testimony at the February 23rd City Council Meeting. If you wish to submit written comments, please provide them to the Director of Planning, Building, and Code Enforcement by noon on Friday, February 22, 2008. Written comments submitted by Monday, February 11, 2008 will be included in the City Council Staff Report. The City Council Staff Report, summarizing the PUMP Committee’s recommended Trails Network Plan, will be available after Wednesday, February 13, 2008 on the City’s website at www.palosverdes.com/rpv under the February 23, 2008 City Council Agenda. <A title=blocked::http://www.palosverdes.com/rpv/plann...aster_Plan.cfm href="http://www.palosverdes.com/rpv/planning/planning-zoning/RPV-Public_Use_Master_Plan.cfm">Click here for further information on the PUMP, including the recommended Trails Network Plan.
