Default Chino Hills State Park 2/10/08

Great day on the trail. We started early. Rode up the road the first gate on the right. (I don't know all of the names of the trails.) the ridge from the top down to the horse staging area was in great shape. Some of the trail side vegetation is starting to crowd the trails, but here it is fine.
After the staging area we went up to four corners. There we met a guy who proceeded to tell us what sh%@ the xtr are stuff is and then gave us a 5 minute hydraulics engineering lesson.
Up to raptor ridge, down the aliso creek, and finally up heart attack hill ( I made it all the way to 20' to go and start to lose it, so I stopped)
Many of the trails will only be rideable for a few more weeks, getting very overgrown. But it sure is beautiful right now.

It's the last climb out of aliso creek back up to the power lines on the ridge going back toward Chino Hills. That's the name I heard it as first. It has a wooden cross planted near the top, don't know if that has something to do with the name.

I think it's called Sidewinder now. The cross is for a guy who did die there a few years back.
Must have been toasty on the Chino side.

I was at Chino Hills today with a few Team Dirty Work guys. The first gated trail on the right as you enter the park is called Bane Ridge. We then rode up Southridge then down Bovine Delight. The park was absolutely stunning today.....there were about 20 mtbikers at 4 corners when we arrived around 10:45 a.m.

We even got to see a Bobcat when we finished our ride coming down Raptor Ridge......
