Default My Backyard

If any of you, which would be few, have seen the backyard at my dads house, its pretty sweet. The lot we live on is about 3/4 of an acre, with the backyard neing i would say about 1/3-1/4 of an acre of dirt. Half of that is occupied by trailers, and our horses. Well, since im at this new school, Options For Youth, i have alot of spare time when i am not doing my packets. From 9 AM until 2 PM i worked to finish my first packet which is due tomorrow. Around 330 my brother was jumping his bike in the backyard off of his plastic kicker ramp. Well, i got this idea to build a jump, which is not the first we have built, In the middle of our yard. Usually, to build a jump that is about 8 inches high, it takes almost 2 hours to get perfect since the dirt is so hard packed. Well since the rain has saturated our backyard, it was perfect for building a jump. Heres what i started with, a wide open lot with 2 horses roaming.

From there i progressed to laying down the wood..

Next it was laying dirt..
just to get an idea on how big the jump is, the kicker plastic ramp is about 10 inches tall maybe more..

after, i layed a rubber mat on it but i dont think i got any pics of it.. ill take more tomorrow, and ill build more also
just kidding.. i found one with the mat on it.. you just have to look hard..

I also started a berm... the other one ill take pics of tomorrow..(the berms are fontucky style... mostly one huge rut, that acts as a berm.

sorry the pic of the berm is so bad... it got dark..
ill take better pics tomorrow..
now i just need a 4x/Dirt Jumper so i can build hgue hits in my yard!

Oh BTW, total working time by myself, was 40 minutes..

Trust me on this one... i can build way better if i have time... problem is the runway to get speed for the jump is not big... eventually ill progress into a bigger double jump or even a 4 pack or something. But sure, if one day you and sharky and Todd want to come out we can mess around building stuff in my backyard... problem is the rain washes out most of it and if we need to get the trailers out or something they would have to be taken down

We can build a starting gate thats like 5 feet high and make it roll down so its like a Mock 4x track which would be good for practicing starts

well mostly its the huge trailer on the right, the other ones rarely see action... but if for some reason something needs to be done, and my grandparents have to move those trailers they would have to be takenh down
lol

Default More backyard stuff

It looks like a good start. If you just do a little at a time you will be amazed at how much you can get done after a few weeks or months. It does look like a good place for a pump track.
