Thanks for the tips guys. I'll try and take in more electrolytes next time. I used Hammer Perpeteum and Clif Bloks this time around. I'll try adding in some Endurolytes or HEED next time.

Or maybe if I was riding a 29er instead? Nobody on the 29ers seemed to have problems..

Default Temecula Races

The Temecula race was a great event! I decided at the last minute to head out with Traci and give support and hang out with the STR crew. Riders, Neil, Carl, Waylen, Jesse, Micheal, Robert, Shannon and a few others that we meet and hung out with Brian, Doug, and Scooby. It was great seeing Nam, Megan, Jared, Jason and Alisa.

We were so lucky to have such beautiful weather. Although it was crisp outside, the rain stayed away for most of the day.

I took a few photos:

I started my day with a head cold . My first lap was slow about 1:20 , second was 1;18 then I started cramping really bad third was about 1:25 & I was cramping worse . so I called it a day . I didn't train enough in the last three weeks between the rain & being sick for the last two weeks .I'm ok dissapointed but ok . The same thing happened last time.Really pisses me off . On a brighter note congrats to all who placed .It was great to see you guys out there . Slayer , Neil you guys are animals.

Well they didn't exactly have a podium but either way.

Unfortunately most everyone left before picking there metals, but I also have some photos of a few solo riders that were set up next to us and hung out with us after the race.

I feel your pain on the sickness. I was sick and didn't do much like 2 weeks before the race. Tried to go spin on a bike a couple times the week before the race, but took it easy to make sure my cold was gone

Carl, Carl, Carl.....you were a SOB sitting down, taking your shoes off and hitting that deliciuos Tri-Tip sammie after lap 5.
I had that sandwich on the mind for laps 6 and 7, it worked like a charm, thanks!
You missed out on the fun in the rain and dark..sliding up the hills and hanging on for dear life on simple downhill turns
It was good riding with you, maybe a duo in June?

Neil you're the man. Cramping after lap 2 and you still crunched out 7 laps. I didn't sleep enough the night before and after lap 5 I was a little loopy and making some really bad steering and line choices. Maybe I'll bring armor next time for those tired, rain soaked night laps.

Yumm, Tri-tip. Glad to be of service!

June Duo, hmmm, that might be a good idea if the temps get really bad. It would be nice to be able to cool off and hydrate.

Oops...posted this to the wrong thread earlier.

The photos are up at http://www.egofoto.com. Looks like the photographer was the one parked out by the switchbacks.

I was #38. Pho'd Up was #39. 1x1clyde was #69. Not sure about the others.

They missed the one where I fell right there.

Now if they would just post the results. Would like to know where our team ended up, 4th or 5th. At one point in the day, we were 16 seconds out of 4th.

Great RR guys, great pics. I'm hoping to be out there possibly in November if not for a ride then just to check it out. My Fontana races showed me just how out of shape I am, need waaayyy more training to hang with the 12 hour studs!

Just come on out in June Jman! I can attest to the fact that you don't have to ride the entire 12 hours and still have a good time!
