My friend and I were thinking of riding our mountain bikes up GMR tomorrow morning. It's suppose to be sunny until early afternoon. GMR is one of my favorite road rides. I've never tried it on a mountain bike but have seen many other riders on mtn bikes. I'm not sure of the road conditions. I cannot find the hwy # to check out conditions on caltrans.com. Since I am not sure what to expect, I'd rather be on my fat tires. Does anyone have any info on the road conditions?

I'm planning on doing the roadie thing up there, wave as you pass by (black and silver Scott bike). Just don't knock me over
![]() I've seen a few mtn bikes go up, and a few guys shuttling, but I don't know the trails at all, so I wouldn't know what they're like. Let me know if you hear anything--and thanks in advance!!

GMR is about 8 or 9 miles to GRR (Glendora Ridge road). You climb for a good 8 miles before you get a break. Nothing too steep -AVERAGE ABOUT 5 - 6%. Once you get to mile 14 there are about 2 - 3 miles of 7 - 9% (I may be off), but not too bad. You can go all the way to Mt. Baldy by hanging a left at the end of GRR. I've done this ride many times on my road bike and there are not too many cars. It's a great road ride. I am looking forward to trying it on my mountain bike. Say Hi when you pass me. I am on a red Specialized Stumpjumper. My friend has a Silver (Dean ?) bike. Teri |

Since we've had so much rain, we thought we would just ride the road. Our intent was to stay off the trails to let them dry out. I've never tried any of the trails in the area and plan to once things dry out. I've heard of Monroe Truck trail and would love to try it. Probably not the best weekend to explore. Thanks for all the info!

The road I've done, it's the trails I haven't--but those going up look like they're about to have a blast. I'll say hi

I rode from the cnayon up to the mystic turn off. The bottom is rough but rideable. Once out of the canyon the trail was in great condition. It seems the trail is good very quickly after a rain.
