Default RR: Altered state of CA

I needed to go for a ride the other day where it wasn’t muddy or closed. So I threw the bike in the car and drove to a regional park. But as I started riding, things were atypical.

Like a freeway overpass with no cars,

Signs but no traffic,

Strange trees,

And warnings of peril that lay ahead.

I was told I couldn’t ride a leisurely pace,

And could only go one-way,

On blue groove singletrack.

Like someone was attempting to read my mind.

So I just railed as fast as I wanted.

Like drinking a smooth, top shelf margarita all day.

But I really craved cheap tequila this trip. Enter South Park.

Hold the salt,

no lime.

Undeniably harsh,

And guaranteed scratchy.

Pure two wheel paradise.

Topped with a night cap descent, just your average DH’ers wet dream…during the day - 1200’ in 2 mi.

55 miles in 3 blissful days. I’m looking forward when work sends me to Phoenix again.

Javelina-Mormon-National but had to bail north at Buena Vista down Geronimo (Boyscout?) before my Halogen timed out. Had I more time & daylight, south on Corona Loma to pick up Desert Classic & Beverly Canyon back to the start. Incredible w/ the Full moon.

Love you too man. Just getting you back for the crappy trails around your new pad. I think we need a training ride prior to heading out to Moab.

Yep Geronimo = Boyscout.

GREAT trails and that's one sweet route you took. I used to ride up there on National with my SS...I'm a softy now! You've got me hankering for another trip to PHX and we were just there in November!

You must drive like an old man , it only takes me 5 from San Diego at 10+ mph and you've got a straight shot across I-10.
