Los Pinetos

Just a note to any members that ride the Los Pinetos trail in Santa Clarita:

I heard that someone might be dropping nails and glass on the trail. Please use caution and spread the word. I have not been affected personally, but just thought I should give everyone a heads up!

Hopefully this is just an isolated occurance.....

What really gets me is people do stuff like this and think that it only affects cyclists. A nail can also puncture shoes. You know the average child is not going to wear any really rugged hiking boots, and there are many familys that hike in the area. Really sad!

The only way to deter this sort of behavior is to report it as widely as possible. When someone is creating a hazard with potentially serious consequences all trail users will come together and keep a look out. Not to mention getting the attention of the authorities and or media will discourage future vandalism.
