RR: Turnbull Canyon

Thanks to davidB for organizing this mornings ride and to COLEKO for guiding us. My first time riding at Turnbull and there was actually more climbing than I thought there would be. Not too difficult, but some the fire roads were fairly long. Once we got off the fire road (sorry I don't remember the trail names) we went into the tree covered singletrack which had fun twisty descents but also a long climb back out too. None of us were able to clear "the wall," although JOx2 was the only of us determined to give it more than one try. After another nice downhill section and grind up to Turnbull Canyon Road, we eventually made our way to the Tower then a quick descent and back out. We had a couple of riders with unexpected dismounts(crashes), but were able to ride away little more than a bruised ego. Nice place to ride with lots of variety and great views of LA.

Glad you visited my home! Kinda' disappointed Coleko didn't convince the group to ride a few more of the trails Turnbull had to offer!

Thanks to DavidB for setting this newbie ride, i'd say its a "newbie plus" ride. i did try to clear it 3 x and 3x i failed , for some reason my mind is telling me "i can do it" but i ended up with a bruised ego and drained my energy in return, and so i am paying for it for the next few climbs.

Thanks for the RR. I would of been there but did trail maintenance instead. Glad you had a good time and didnt get hurt.

I want to thank davidb for posting the ride. I had a great time freezing with all of you in the morning. Soon as the sun came out the weather was perfect. The ride was fun with a good pace and enough rest stops. Next time lets do cowtrail.
