Default where have you seen poison oak?

So let's build a quick list of places that you have seen poison oak. Details on when and where you saw it would be good too. Just so we're extra cautious around these areas.

Little background first: So I had to be admitted to the hospital last night because of the poison oak rash that was infected and caused my left leg to swell up pretty bad. Also have some of the rash on both arms. After a lot of antibiotics through IV, some oxygen, painkillers, and prescriptions, the swelling is getting better and it looks like I'll be ok. Apparently the antibiotics given to me on Monday weren't doing much.

I got this rash and a previous one a few months ago from Turnbull canyon. My guess was from a fall I took in worsham canyon. Also saw some on the switchbacks off of Turnbull canyon road.

I got some on the Chiquita trail 2 weeks ago, a 3 inch dia patch below the knee and some on the right leg. Vince (the one with the disco wig at the Bike & Beer) got it pretty bad on his legs, arms and belt area.

I did not fall, I did not go off the trail but still got it.

The trail had been cleaned, the Warrior's society did an amazing job on the trail. I hardly seen any but I guess you don't need much to get a reaction.

It's my first PO attack and I don't like it

I hope you feel better soon [-o<

It's gonna be so bad this year I would assume that it is there almost anywhere you go that's remotely green or near any creeks. I've gotten small patches twice this year. Once near Mt Lowe at El Prieto (that is the worst)- and I even washed down right afterwards. The other was at Weir Canyon near Santiago Oaks, but we did some bushwacking, so that might not count. Suggest a product called Ivy Block (lotion), especially for those like George that are really sensitive to it. see http://www.drugstore.com/products/pr...otion_for_pois

Any time there is lush shadey areas, with a little bit of water, PO will be around. If you ride ridges, dry desert conditions or high elevation it will be PO free.

I grew up in Nor-Cal, they also have Poison Ivy.

Yikes! Hope you heal up soon. As a kid, I heard horror stories about PO, but never a first hand account. Now I'm all paranoid, but then I've been mtb riding since the late 90's and have been lucky not to get any yet.. knock on wood, throw salt over my shoulder, anything else?

I've got quite a few blisters developing from going up and down Trabuco Trail at the Toad Fest on Saturday, then brushed up against a pretty good size patch on Coyote at Aliso-Woods on Sunday.
