I finished 4th in the pro women's class...not too bad. I did pretty well considering I was riding on tired legs but it was all fun! It was awesome being out there with the hugh Path/STR extended family...you all make it the fun it really is.

I'll spare ya'll the re-hash and get right to the photos

clear but a tad breezy today

I have a bunch of other podium shots but didn't want to be repetitive. It was a race we won't soon forget...memorable! We'll all be talking about this for years to come. Thanks to everyone who came out to cheer, take pictures, and be a part of it all

Thanks to Denmother, SDyeti and Sauce for the race run wind reports. It helped.

I hope the woman (cbharping's Sport class) that dislocated her ankle (or whatever the diagnosis is) makes a full recovery.

I love babywipes!

Hell, I'd settle for being able to just ride a bike down those hills (or anywhere else for that matter)!

Almost forgot...

another huge "THANKS" to Donny and the whole crew at SRC

They ran a really smooth weekend, given the huge amount of racers and the weather.

Wow, that looks like the prone scorpion yoga pose! Ok, I'm gonna edit my original post to say "blown off" since I was able to jump off and run.

And yes I consider it an answer to my pre-race prayer which was for a safe run, no injuries and to stay focused!!!
:-)

It's cuz I've got mad skillz

Funny thing is I don't remember it happening that way or even thinking I was going to nose wheelie. I took off pedaling once I hit the ground

I know it's already been said many times on this thread, but I wanted to add my thanks and appreciation to the spectators and photographers that endured the nasty conditions on Sunday. It wasn't the most fun I've had out there, but hearing the cheers (and cowbell) as well as getting home and seeing all the great pictures more than made up for it.

Speaking of photographers; Dino, I really enjoy your brother's pictures. The candid shots like the guy giving some pointers to the kid on the bike really convey the atmosphere at the races out there.

That was McGyver giving pointers to his son, Slim (Barry & Christian). I thought those were great too.

Need to THANK a few people:
My Brother: For risking his equipment. Due to the DUST and wind, he was unable to swap lenses. Most of the pics were taken with his big, bulky and heavy 400mm FIXED lens. No zoom. That would explain many of the poor shots. I am surprised he didn't fly away! Even more surprised he kept shooting. Thanks Bro!

PhotoMom and PhotoTurbo: I was up at the saddle with PhotoMom. She was getting "absolutely worked" by the wind!

Pugzie, Slashusc, DoWork, Elvia, Julia, Willie, CC, jSims, KeithB and to all the other spectators who endured the torturous winds. Was shocked to see Socalridr's parents spectating. Cough... roadies... cough!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU MUST BE EXTENDED TO HEATHER (Andy Rut's better half) who acted as race NURSE at the saddle area. She was a busy girl. One guy ate it BIG TIME. Knocked himself OUT! My job was to get the bikes off the trail, convince them not to move for a while and assist them off the course. Her job was to check for broken bones, concussions, dislocations etc. Huge Thanks! The riders were very grateful for her help

sdINTENSIty ...Lil'missFocused.... "StareDown World Champion"- Call her what you will

*** With regard to the STORYTELLING images: My Brother and I consider the members of STR our extended family. Just looking for a few "family" pics! Expect similar images to be posted at the next race.... and the next one!
