Default j -dirts birthday nixes

my dsl is down so posting from celly cell. will be minimal rr with no pics from me as I can't get them to phone. others got some pics so hopefully they will post/upload.

think 10 of us rally for 8:30am start at ridge park and realize Boats is not there. give him a ring and told he is approx 20 min out.

we decide to hang with 5 of us start rolling toward fenceline for a quick spin and back before boats arrives. after quick sprint we're back at ridge park and no sign of chris. wtf.

we call him again and first thing he says is 'we're meeting at the lower parking lot right?'. what a knucklehead, huh (inhale too much brake cleaner???)

so instead of hitting bommer to nix plans changes as we ride down to meet chris riding up no dogs. once we hook up its a fast rip down mach one and climb I think I can to the ridge through the gate towards nix center. never hit those trails before (not sure as names...stagecoach?) but some fun fireroad decent / climbing and then some cool singletrack climb with tight swithbacks and same on trip down to nix center.

once there a few of us realized their hall passes we timing out (me be the most vocal...sorry guys) and we hit the road to lcwp and climb that biatch back to bommer for ride back to trucks and cars. a few beers clinked once back with me heading out first.

think ride (with pre boats extra credit was approx 20 miles...not sure of accent as haven't loaded gps yet).

all in a good ride with a bunch of cool cats of all ride levels. met think 1/2 of the riders i head never met before.

me- I was sucking some serious wind after being sick all week but glad I sucked it up a rode with gang today.

thanks to all that joined in.. hopefully j-dirt had fun and was cool with the change of trail plans with the hour glass getting low for a few of us.

happy b-day super J (and others b-day boyz, Danny and Dillin)

thnx for organizing the ride Adam...the late start just added to the ride. Good group and should be some nice photos (I didn't bring my camera). Stagecoach (s/t near Nix) is in GREAT shape and a blast to ride. Climbing up Willow towards the end...well ...u did it. For a guy coming off feeling like shite, u did well. Thnx for all who came out...nice way to get back on the bike....more beer next time

Sorry guys but I am just not into early starts. Would have joined you all at about 10am but I needed to sleep in this AM. I was still wired from all the riding Satuday and did not get into bed until 2am.

Default J Dirt and the Posse invade El Moro

Thanks to all the guys for dragging my butt up and down those hills. It was great to get out of the IE and ride along the ocean.

This was my first trip to EM and I must say, I've been missing out. Our first short spin OB to stretch the legs and wait for Boats gave me a little taste of some of the trails. The singletrack back along Fenceline was a nice taste of some of the trails all through the area. I think the run down Camarillo was my favorite. Good fast trail with a steep rock section toward the bottom - love it.

Without further adeiu - the photos!

The group before heading out to meet up with Boats.

Kid A and I think Bill(?) cresting the first hill.

Danny makin' it look easy

The birthday boy.

Big props to Sonny. It think we said this was his 4th ride ever.

The line never stops

Kevin, Adam and Bill(?)

Damn morning coffe. Never stays with ya!

Steve and Sonny climbing I Think I Can.

Another of Boats rockin the Dos Niner. I missed the pose just prior - Damn shutter lag.

Pat enjoying the climb along Morro Ridge

Damn, this is a terrible place to ride. Ocean, Catalina in the background - who can ride in these conditions?

Steve and Adam climbing Morro Ridge.

Kid A coming down Camarillo

Kevin coming down Camarillo before he climbed back up to find Sonny and Fat Possum. What a trooper!

Xhuskr clearing a steep rock section.

Jamised Out on Stagecoach

Boats showing us how it's done.

Fat Possum being attacked by the camera strap.

I swear Johnny was singing "Happy Birthday to Me" the whole way down.

Where are we again?

It was great meeting you all!

We'll have to schedule a post knee surgery ride and only the downhill parts. Shuttle, here I come.

Good luck with the knee.
