Default Holy Jim Trabuco Loop

Chip aka TalksWithFoxes and I surveyed Holy Jim and Trabuco today in preparation for next week's (1-19) trail work with the Warriors Society.

In general HJ is in good shape as is Trabuco. What is not in good shape is the Main Divide. It has suffered from the recent rains.

The tunnel on lower Holy Jim needs a little work...

Here's some other spots on HJ that need some some work...

These should be fixed by VQ courtesy of The Warriors Society.

Here's Chip on Main Divide.

Unfortunately Chip had two flats.

Flat #2

Beautiful views with Mt Baldy in the background.

We saw alot of traffic on Holy Jim and a little as we were descending Trabuco.

Conditions were excellent and the weather was magnificent.

The creeks were flowing very full.

We ran into Calvin (aka Superman) on top of Trabuco. He and other Warriors had done trail work earlier in the day. Calvin was enroute to trail run down Bell Ridge. Yes, you heard me! Bell Ridge!

What a great time to ride the Santa Anas!

There is a new slide on Trabuco just below the existing slide in the shale section but it's not too bad.

The final pay-off...Margaritas at Rose Canyon Cantina! Priceless!

First flat was a mystery.

Second was a faulty tube at the base of the stem.

Morale of the story: don't buy cheap tubes!!!

And carry more than one on long and/or remote rides!
