Default Vegas Baby Cowboy Trail

First of all I want to say that it was cold when I was Vegas . As some of you know I went to Vegas for CES (consumer electronics show) this last weekend, just got back late last nite.

I decided to take my bike with me to keep my sanity dealing with a bunch of industry poupous or non industry poupous people that snuck into the show.

OK OK I decided to go try out the Cowboy trail in Vegas on Sunday morning and it was a fun trail. My mistake going on trail in Vegas that I have never been on by myself ! Well here are some pics for erotic pleasure.

You hit up Bootleg Canyon while you were there, right?

No Willie, no bootleg I was on a tight time schedule so bootleg was a bit far from where I was staying.

The Cowboy Trail, and it looks like it came the fake, or were they real, cowboys to boot. Also looks like a fun ride.

Nice! Looked like quite a storm was brewing there.

Justin and I rode over there once, but we ended up staying on the Blue Diamond trail system, which I think is not as easy (or at least it wasn't for my beginner-ness )

Nice Dave. Last time I was in Vegas for work I hit up Blue Diamond. I'll probably try to hit Cowboy Trail next time. It's amazing that such good riding is only 20 minutes from the strip.

Hi Bill actually I did not see that particular sign but I would have not gone that way do to the fact that I did not want to be one of those stories Mountain bike rider found dead alone on trail. I went alone and I wish I had the chance to ride with someone that knows the trail. To be honest with you I wanted to ride that trail after seeing your video on your website.

It's part of the Cowboy trails system. If you come up from the Charleston side you'll pass Red Rock park and shortly after that you'll see a sign for horseback riding on your left. Here's a rough map:

Easy way to get their is to take the 215 Hwy exit off of Charleston (you will get off and pass the Red Rock casino) head towards the mountains. On your left side you will see Horseback riding sign park their and from their their is a network of many trails.

I grew up in Vegas...it really isn't much more than gambling, eating, drinking, puking and throwing money at strippers. Unless you consider Pahrump part of Vegas then you can add brothels...and heat, cold and wind...

There is Bootleg Canyon but that is Boulder City. And the trails up in Red Rock can be thrown in with Summerlin, which IMO is not part of Vegas either.

Thanks! After looking video over, I guess about half of it is.
These are the Boneshaker bits:
0:35-0:45
2:00-3:26
3:40-4:00
4:20-5:25
5:37-5:55
6:05-6:10
6:24-6:34

When I get a change I'm going remaster the web version with less compression. That looks pretty blocky compared to the more recent stuff.
