Gone ridin'

We took it fairly easy today out at Southridge. Showed up to some clouds and puddles. We got moving and I warmed up quick. Dan took off his outer shell early on, and I removed my wool arm warmers.
By about halfway through the lap it was SUNNY. We got to the far side and on the flats on the way back it started to sprinkle...then it was a bit harder... i didn't stop at all after that and soon was completely drenched. We came around the corner near the finish line and Donny was out there with a few guys. Looks like they were thinking about doing some maintenance/building, but the downpour was just too much. We had planned to do two laps, but I was soaked and freezing cold after one. Early on... ![]() Nice blue skies; just what I like to see ![]() There was plenty of gorgeous green out there today ![]() Got sweet singletrack? ![]() For those curious.. we didn't dig treads into any of it. Tire marks here and there, but it was good and clean still. Plenty of water ruts/rivulet left overs throughout, though. ![]() My camera would hardly turn on at the end.. We thought maybe it was just wet, but I think someone is seriously wrong. It'll turn on, but the screen is dead. It's been taking "dark" shots for about a month or two now... So, it needs to go in for repair (hopefully not full replacement, I've only had it like 13 months!!). Parting shot (it was really raining that hard) ![]() Donny goes, "You guys didn't get wet, did you?" Nooo, not at all ![]() Sooo, anyone know where you can get Canon's at a really good price? |

Too bad about the Canon, you could try giving Canon a call, see if the warranty is still good. Try e-bay sometimes there are some good deals on their on used cameras.
Sounds like kind of a fun ride even with the rain though and the pics you did take look pretty decent.

To be honest I'd be bummed you take pictures of like every ride and I've found myself looking forward to seeing what you and your husband are riding. I'm living viacriously through you guys on weekends!

I take a Pentax camera on the trail with me, Dirt and/or water can be bad. It is waterproof and takes pretty good pictures. And it fits in the small pouch on my camel pack.
Here is one that I found. It isn't that one I use, a little newer. http://www.h20camera.com/home

I ran into some problems with one of mine. We took it back where I'd bought it and they replaced it on the spot. I couldn't believe it as I'd had the camera over a year. They do know me there though. I've bought about a dozen cameras and a few video cameras too.
I do not like going into that store though as I almost always leave with something I don't really need.

Looks like I am SOL. ![]() Thanks for the offer though ![]() If I send it out tomorrow I guess I'll charge up and heft my C8080 out at Fontana. Will be fine for the awards and then for DH after I'm done. I just will have to remember how to work it. It's technically a P&S, but is way more sophisticated (erm...difficult to use). |

Got the Whistler blues...

Allison, you are welcome to use my Canon 400SD until yours is fixed - it was the camera I used up until this December when I got a new one. It does a great job! Just let me know, I can bring it to Fontana Saturday.
Oh, and you'll need to use your own memory card, my big one is in my new camera. They are compatible with both our cameras. |

![]() BTW, I've got your Champion cup and jersey out to bring this weekend. So, when you guys get there just come over and I'll have it for you! Steph - also got the women's L Path jersey out for you (will that size be okay? It fits me weird!). Quote:
I think that Dan briefly talked to Donny about it yesterday and they will be changing 1-2 small sections. I think they are going to reroute the trecherous loose DH where people crash (including me) to a cool section.. and I think there is one more somewhere else. The course will be really close to what is up on GeoLadders right now, but with a few slight singletrack variations. FWIW, the course during race day is really well marked with arrows, etc. But, if you want to pre-ride, go out there with the geoladders route print-out and follow that. It'll be good enough to give you an idea of the course. The minor changes on race day won't be enough to screw you up (e.g. the difficult parts will be the same). |
