There was an story in the mtn bike news years ago of a man who fell in a hole while mtn biking with his two young sons. It broke his neck and he died at the scene. The hole was done by a vandal that had dug it and covered it. The person was, as far as I know, never caught! This guy needs to realize the damage he could have caused. In turn, I wish the mtn biker that almost ran him down could also be held accountable.

yes, he nailed a tree on the very last dirt portion of the loop. myself and hoosierdaddy nearly ran over his bike (we came upon him about 30 seconds after it happened) as we descended the loose and rutted, pine needle covered section...that was an ugly night.

a handfull of others had serious injuries as well:

I was there when Pua crashed. She hit the the huge rut before the tunnels. That hole/rut was the result of rain run off. But Im sure there was some injuries because of what that guy did but just wasnt reported.

Maybe it's the dog who did it and the guy is just covering for him.

I too have personally seen a rider in full kit on the loop. This was a couple of years ago, but at the time I remember wondering if there was some crazy extra credit trail that I didn't know about.

I just laughed (out loud) and kept riding.

He might have a whole new perspective of riding and riders after that.
Agreed. Paving the trail would be the way to truly ruin it.

At the same time, we're lucky he only dug holes. There are several other methods of trail sabotage that could have truly been life-and-limb-threatening. This guy's behavior was inexcusable.

For his community service, they should put that donkey to work building jumps and putting up "no hiking" signs.

How about some of the after ride shots from Roscoe's?

How about we send the culprit a calender. I think February would be a perfect shot for him.
