The Guides: Hi-Energy Coleko and The Highly "Hungover" Dino Brown

The reason: Wanted to kickoff Pugzie's first ride of 2008 in style. New trail. Challenging trail. My HOME trail. I am forgetting something... Oh yeah! Pugzie has entered the STR Weight Loss Challenge. He is committed to giving it his all. Coleko and I have decided to make sure he does just that! Good luck to everyone participating! I am sure we (i.e. participants and I) will see a lot of eachother in the months to come.

Disclaimer: This thread has less to do with posting images of Turnbull and MORE to do with posting images of INSPIRATION for my 319.4 pound friend! Today was memorable to Pugzie in many ways. Hopefully, a few of these pictures will help him to remember some of the reasons why!

That HURTS Andy! For those who don't know, TURNBULL CANYON was the local ride of DB, Ahimanic, Bryce, HuckSpokes and Sprockethead for as long as I can remember!

ANDY- Whatta' ya' say we plan a "JUST LIKE OLD TIMES RIDE" in the weeks to come? Someone has to tell Ahimanic he will be climbing that day! Not easy- He is a gravity rider now!

1) You PEEPS are usually ALREADY committed to other rides
2) When my rides are not posted, it is so SOMEONE (in our small group) can enjoy the ride without feeling pressured to push themselves

I asked for this ride after the loop on Sunday and Dino and Coleko really delivered. This was my first time riding a trail that was not newbie specific and it was great. I really learned a lot about riding, my abilities and when to listen to Dino (like when he tells you to lower your seat on a downhill, that really makes such a huge difference).

I have been riding regularly for about 2 1/2 months now and there is no way I could have ridden here back then. I have been fortunate enough to meet some really awesome people here and they have gone above and beyond in pushing me to become a better ride, I make it up a lot of the hills I attempt although today there were a couple that got me, especially "bitch please", thats the hill Dino and I are pushing our bikes up.

All the lurkers out there who want to get better and need help should remember that this is a great resource and come to some of the rides.

This ride really showed me how far I've come and I can not wait till I get to the next step and the one after it.

atta boy pugzie! turnbull is a fun place to ride, great climbs, fun switchbacks, flowy s/t, and i've never seen it super crowded. keep up the great work!

Way to go Pugz, and nice job Dino & Coleko for hooking him up. I grew up a few miles from there and used to ride my road bike in that area, but never tried the trails. Love to join you guys out there next time.

Wow Pugz looks like u really are losing weight. Really your face is looking thinner amd they say the camera adds ten pounds to you! I hate being away from my computer during the time off from work. I would have cruised up for a ride.

Dino my cousin lives in Whitter and we are going to ride Turnbull this coming Sat morning if you want to ride again in your backyard. I can only ride Sat as I am going to Vegas on Sat night for the CES (consumer electronics show) but will be back in So Cal on Wed.
