Before we decide on a Turnbull Ride, we must first look to the sky!

If the trail has any measurable amounts of rain, the result will be less than stellar conditions. The entire back/north side is under the canopy of trees! Rain+Shade=MUD!

Just wanted to run that by everyone.
I think it may be time for a Turnbull Ride! If not this week... it WILL happen!

I don't know about that, she is pretty hard to keep up with, I might break down crying as she rolls by me.

Cool then if its not raining then fur sur! I was thinking maybe meet at 8:00AM? Would that be too early for ya guys? Suggestions? May cousin rides their all the time to show us around if Mayor Brown is not able to make it due to the fact that he is with his new Telemundo reporter girlfriend. I have to ride in the morning because I have a flight to catch later on that day.

where's turnbull??? I would love to come out for a ride, but I'm not a huge fan of driving long distances to trails and scheduling is always an issue. I'll keep checking the trailhead forum though.

near the corner of the 605 and 60 freeways. Actually a couple miles south east of that junction. 605, exit Beverly Blvd and go east, follow that by all the houses until it turns into a small canyon road.

anywho, pending rain, how's Saturday at 8am? Up the fireroad climb, over to the 7th street loop, down rattlensnake, back up fireroad climb, down to friends street singletrack?

here's a map i found on here

Do you think I could drive up from irvine, complete the ride, and make it back in time to shower and then work at 11 AM?? If so, I'm totally in.

Not quite that close. It's about 2-3 miles east of the 605 off Beverly Blvd.

For those of you new to the trail you should park on the street near the houses just before you get to the canyon. There are quite a few car break-ins at the trailhead parking spots. It's only about 1/8 of a mile from the last house anyhow.

IMO it's cutting it a bit too close Dutch. With the proposed route it would take a good 2 hrs+, if the ride start at 8am maybe...

but then again you guys may be fast climbers... I'm not.

Well I can definitely muscle up a good climb, but to rush it would be to destroy the whole fun group ride thing. On top of that I'd have to rely on traffic not slowing me down too much. Guess I'll have to wait for another time. bummmmmero.
