RR: Lower Monroe Truck Trail

Day before Christmas turned out to be an awesome day for a ride, if you had the time. I ended up with a bit, so decided to hit the Lower Monroe Truck Trail. Trail was in perfect condition, weather couldn't have been better, the views were far, and even though I was riding solo there were some friendly folks on the trail to talk with. Rode the section beween the lower trailhead and the GMR. Rocky going through the canyon bottom, and since I have never been adept at rock gardens I did mostly hike a bike, but when the trail turned up and left the canyon bottom it was just pure sweetness. Coming down, the trail just flows and swoops so nice, if you have never done it, you have to give it a try. A group of us had stopped to look down along the Mystic Canyon Trails but no one was willing to give it a try this day, just content to have some non-stress fun. Rains are turning everything green again, autumn color is still lingering, there was even a late blooming lupine still hanging around. Don't be surprised to see this one on the calendar soon.

We ride this trail frequently on the Monday night rides from Incycle. I was working Monday morning looking at the mountains, and longing to ride. Thanks for the pics and RR.
