Default Looking for Info on Sedona Trails

Most of the stuff I get searching for information on the Sedona trails is about tour guides but not much about the actual trails in the area.
When I was planing early this year a trip to Utah I found utahmountainbiking.com to be the best source of information, is there anything like that for arizona or even better for the Sedona area that anyone used before?

you can also check out Cosmic Ray's "Arizona Mountain Bike Guide" for some Sedona (among other Arizona) trail info. That's how I planned most of my initial Arizona rides.

Sedona is about as easy as any place I have been to find your way around. Trails well marked, everything close to town, easy to keep your bearings...landmarks easy to see and remember, plenty of friendly peps on the trails willing to give info, everything 800 ft above town is wilderness and off limits.

Everything from easy dirt paths to extreme gnar. Lots of so called social trails....trails without names and not on any maps. Great because the chances of finding a new lewel is great. If you want to be shown the goods go along with one of the local bike shops weekly rides. Be prepared these locals know how to ride....not for the intermediate riders.

I have done many Sedona RR's in the past and only post a RR on a trail once, unless something unusual happens or a find some new trail to share.

I can't believe Steppie left out what may be the three most important words when it comes to Sedona riding:

Bike and Bean

Call them or stop there on your way in to town. Rent a bike or just go for trail info. Their web site is weak, but they are amazingly helpful people. Tony and Gonzo hooked me up with bikes and great trail info, and then we ran into the owner (Jim?) on the trail, and he couldn't have been cooler.

Steppie, can you scan a map and highlight the route you gave me the tour of? That was a great loop!

I second the idea of dropping in to Bike & Bean.

I did, met a few locals and boy did I have fun! MTBR lists MANY Sedona Trails. Most are easy to find and even easier to ride. Lots of fun XC trails! Ck out the trails in Cottonwood and go to Jerome for a "day trip".

Here's a place to get you started:

www.mountainbikeaz.com

Fat Tire Tails and Trails is a great book that gives good descriptions of the trails.

Arizona has some great riding, have fun! We're riding in Arizona now, not in Sedona but a few hours drive from there. Will be posting ride reports when we get back.

When I go to a new to me area I like to make sure I won't miss the best trail for my riding (XC), learn as much I can and then decide what to ride with the limited time available, planing a trip with some friends can be challenging to get everyone on the same page, thanks everyone for your reply, I'm in the early stage of planing and I'm sure as we get closer (in the next few months) I wll have more questions, like:

What are the "must" ride xc trails if you only have 3 days in Sedona?
Best time of the year to go?

Thanks STR peeps, your help is apreciated.
