Default Coal to Sierra Peak...personal milestone

So left this morning at 9am from the golf course parking lot... wind was blowing at a good clip...

Man.. what a beautiful day... if there was no wind.
So the beginning of the climb you are not really exposed to the wind... blocked by the canyon walls for the most part. little gusts here and there.

so me and the IPOD were just rocking out on the cimb up coal. It is like 6 miles to the top of coal and around 2500' of climbing. Great views, solid road, miserable climb LOL.

Took me an hour to get to the top of coal... and thats when stupidity set in. The top of the ridge had like 50 mph gusts! and my dumbass decided to try and make it to the antennas at sierra peak. I have only climbed to the top of coal before.

So riding the trail up to sierra... with no cover.... getting blown off the trail constantly.

Determination over rules stupidity LOL

so i made it... woulda rode it to skyline but the wind killed it for me.

so i am beat...tired...and want to do it again.

the ride down made it all worth it.

Nice! I like the seclusion of that ride.
I think I'll be doing it after Xmas.

Nice Aaron! I'll do that ride with you next weekend if you want.

I take it the K2 is fixed, right?

Sam and Nomad,

From OC its as simple as 91 W to green river, Go left... on green river until you hit the dirt parking lot next to the freeway, right before the entrance to the golf course
