Default San Gabriels ~ Mt Lowe Railway

For over a year A&A and I have talked about doing the climb up Mt Lowe to check out the history. Finally time permitted for both schedules for a personal tour. Hopefully they enjoyed themsleves. We started at the gate and the parking gods were with us since there is only 8 parking spaces there and we all got one.

Andy giving Lynn a little boost up that steep road.

My Nammy on his 1x9 4X. He rides it just as fast as his bigger travel bike.

Dawn Mine Station

SNOW!!!

Andy enjoys a quiet moment

Dean and Lynn coming up to the Granite Gate

Checking out what the Alpine Tavern looked like back in 1890 something. Too bad it wasnt still there cuz Im sure all of us would of had a cold one.

On to Inspiration Point

Lynn looking for her house

And the downhill starts with Middle Merrill

Karate Monkey turns into The Egyptian

View from White City ruins

Crossing Echo Mountain

Down The Sunset Trail

Dean looking for real estate

NJ by Andy who was fighting a cold all week.

Thank you everyone for a great time.

Great pics! Thanks for putting this together Noel. I loved the magical history tour. Can't believe this is the first time I've done this trail. Good folks and good fun. I even got to take Annie's Nomad for a spin. Nice ride, so very plush. Looking forward to doing many more San Gab rides with you all in the New Year.

Sorry I missed this one guys/gals, but I did get new carpeting.

House looks great and now I should be faster as I'm 10,000 dollars lighter.

great ride today guys! Second time in the San Gabs and first time doing these trails and they were a freakin blast! I had a rough start since it starts climbing right away and it takes me a solid hour of climbing to warm up.. Middle Merrill was fun with all the jumps/drops, but Sunset was the shizzle fast and flowy s/t that just winds around and has a bunch of switchbacks you gotta try and clean.

Was great to see my father that i never had Vatos Locos por Vida!

Lynn, great to ride with you and i don't think i've ever seen you without a smile on your face... you really lighten up the ride and are a pleasure to be around.

Andy and TurnerSpokes, great ride as usual...keep me in the loop for future rides ummm k

Noel, Sandbagger of the year for sure... homeboy was flying on the DH

Noel,

Thanks for leading us around this historic tour. For some reason I felt great today, must be because I've been feeling so bad all week being sick. Like I said, I prefer this route over the ummm, Wilson Shuttle cause we didn't have to drive back up to pick up the cars.

Lynn, you did fantastic! You're becoming a true technical rider. Noel, you've been fast ever since you sold the 6.6. That Giant fits you so much better, sandbagger!

Nam and Dean, great riding with you guys today, we had a blast hanging out and enjoying the company today.

Thanks Andy, all the kudos you guys gave me today go along way!
I did a little monkeying with the fork, I'll let you know if it makes a difference on the ride today.
