Default Nice report

Noel, Great report. Jose told me about this all week and I was prepared until I woke up that morning to a freakin' sore throat and a slight fever. Hit me up the next time you guys go ridin'! Great seeing ya at the swap meet. (didn't ride there either)

Nice pics an write-up. I love that loop! Probably one of my top 3 favorite rides in southern Cal. Great technical climb then a good cool down up to Inspiration Point (relatively speaking). Once up top, it's pretty much all downhill, techie, exposed, rocky, narrow, switch-backs, etc...by the time you hit EP, it becomes a smooth icing on the cake and a great way to finish a ride. Used to be my staple ride once a week as I lived only 1.5 miles to the east of LM trail head. Gotta hit it again soon!

Thanks again!

I'm sorry I missed this one due to my stupid injury. When would be a good time to hit this up again?? I'm guessing there's more snow on the ground now and the temps would be pretty cold.

I've been wanting to see the White City Ruins for quite awhile now.

Doug, no snow at this level or if there is it'll be gone in a few days.

FYI, as of this morning, I would say the upper portion is not rideable and looks to be snowed-in. Mt. Wilson & about 1000-1500 feet down looks to be covered (obviously, more on top and less on the bottom). Depending on if we have more rain (snow) this week, might still be snow up there. Portions of Upper and Middle Merrill are north-west facing and will retain snow for longer.

Edit: Great northerly view of the Mt. Wilson area via the UCLA 150 foot solar tower. Safe to say that Chilao has too much snow to ride. Catch a live glimpse before the snow metls...

Forecasts say a nice week ahead, with sunny conditions all through the weekend and into next week. I know that won't do much to dry out any mud and/or snow, but I doubt we'll be getting anymore.

Today is the day to ride in the snow, by the weekend it will be either iced over or slushing and wet.
