Gotta pay to play, man! VQ isn't a walk in the park. It's too expensive to fail!

Awesome RR's guys. Those pics were pretty sweet. I didn't see this on the calendar, so the RR was a nice surprise.

Nah, no one would really be interested in these rides, so they generally won't be.

Hit me up if you want to do one once you get your climbing legs back.

VQ has over 4,000ft of climbing more than the ride we did yesterday!

I totally agree. We have 7 hrs to make it to the West Horsetheif cutoff after already riding for 40 miles and 8000 ft of climbing. Lots of good strong riders have come up short. Training rides like this one get you one step closer to that feather.

Absolutly amazing, I was just up in that area this past week. I was checking out Blue Jay and stopped to look at the map at that trail head. Wow that is some serious climbing. Nicely done, and bring on those RR I love reading them as i get really stoked to ride. If I am really honest with myself this is the type of riding that probably calls to me. Its probably not as glamorous but its the type of riding I'd enjoy more than the big rig DH (I admit I get caught up in all of the video/magazine hype).

I am curious though, where is the trail head you started on? You said Indian Truck Trail, is that actually the off-ramp on the 15 and then back under the freeway and into the new housing tract? I'd love to go explore and try it out a bit as I'm just down the freeway from it.

You do take that exit from 15. You go west, and there are a few small signs that lead the way to a Korean retreat and the national forest. I forget the name of the first street we turn off, but then we make a left on Santiago and just park at the end of the dead end street and start riding.

Steph, that's one of the BEST RR's Ive ever read!

Hey Mann's, I need to come out there, and climb ITT with you two on one of your long rides!

When riding the VQ, and you get going down Trabuco, you'll forget all of the climbing and pain, you just went through to get there, and be smiling all the way to the finish line!

You all will finish the VQ with rides like this. Just remember to train your mind's to endure, and forget about what your body is feeling at that moment.

Nice job out there guy's!

I could not agree with you more Maxwell! Getting your mind to endure is one of the biggest hurdles. All week, I had been thinking of the ride and how it would feel. The biggest challenge is to keep going when you want to stop or to keep pushing that gear when you want to shift and make it easier.

And you guys wonder why I'm skeered to ride with you... I would die on a ride like that, or I would die riding with someone who is capable of riding a ride like that.

We wouldn't take anyone on a ride like this that wasn't capable. The point isn't to kill our friends.

You will have to come down and do a Tour de Noble with us at some point. But, you will need to be able to do like 25~ miles and probably at least 3000ft of climbing. Noble is more than that, but we take all day so it's not a huge deal.
