RR: Bday Ride at Oaks
I got together with my old riding buddy Ethan to ride Oak's this morning since its so close and the both of us have not ridden there in a while. While hanging out in the parking lot, none other than CrashMax rolls up after work and came to ride as well. Looks like he was going to have some company this morning
 .. Ride was pretty uneventful, we hit the B's... darin hit the hunk up top real quick and then we proceeded to head down. Once we got to the top of Chutes, we decided to head down Goat since its been about two years since i've ridden it and Ethan has never ridden it. Maxwell led the way and was riding like a superstar on his hardtail with the new xc fork on it. I dunno how ethan rode that Epic, 2.0 tires and super narrow bars... he took it easy and went slow today. It was a good ride, no mechanicals, crashes or anything... Darin pointed out that the ranger(s) plowed the old creek to make a fireroad  guess there is no need for this sign anymore  new sign  used to be the creek bed you could ride through  new growth on the hills  the joy and pain of the 2nd B  Goat was pretty fun, but not as techy i think with the reroute   o yea, forgot to mention that on my way to work i spotted a mtn biker riding along Santiago Canyon towards modjeska and another one riding down Portola from what would have been the Whiting exit...i didn't have time to yell out the window, i would have pulled over it i could and try to talk some sense into these morons... rant over
