MTBBill

Yesterday I went out for some "Flight Lessons" in Alpine with Steve aka "Aquaholic". The man knows how to fly and it is always fun watch him in action. All of the stuff out there has been given funky names and here are a few of them.

"The Collarboner"

"Corn Dog"

Dirty D on "Huck You!"

Me actually getting both wheels off the ground. (Pic by Aquaholic) I forget the name of this one.

It is was a great day out there but I did have one misstep that left me leaking a little with a really sore knee today.

"Pads - There cheaper than stitches"

From Bill's online rep, I doubt this is an illegal trail if thats what you mean. But if he doesn't want to share I can respect and understand that. I would hate to have a nice spot over run by a bunch of people if it wasn't previously.

Hmmm, I just don't understand the thought behind posting awesome riding pictures and then keeping the location a secret. It's just pure torture I tell you!!!!!

I thought secret locations meant secret forums where you get invited only if your part of the "super secret group".

So, someone pm me and invite me to ride at this "secret" place. PLEASE!!!!!

The exact area is referred to by another name, but polite conversation usually just uses Anderson Truck Trail as the name. I would put this trail into the "sensitive" category, much like the trails south of Martha's Grove, Spring and Oak Canyons here in SD. Well known with lot of folks riding them, but there are some underlying issues that make being vague often the best way to talk about it....

Someone from the SDMBA explained it like this to me:

The fire is out at this spot for now, but in the past anti-MTBers have used internet postings from MTBR as fuel to have them outlawed. Hence the moratorium on mentioning it by name online.

Bill,

Fun ride with both you and Aqua yesterday. The dirt was still very exceptionally tacky and packed down from last weekends rainfall, making for some nice traction.

Good times and I hope to run into you more often...

Did I ask for the name? No. Did I ask for directions? No. Did I ask if it was "some trail"? No. So why am I getting a history lesson about a place I know the history of and was the reason for asking "is that near ATT?" HEADLINE: ATT is not a secret you can get details about ATT online and in a freaking book you can buy on Amazon. So don't make it out like I am breaking a "moratorium on mentioning it by name online."
