Default RR: My Thanksgiving Weekend

Justin and I got in 4 rides in 4 days. We got to spend time with some of my family, a friend and her new baby, some of our STR friends. We met a few new people, in addition to hanging with old buds. I rode 3 different bikes, and didn't crash on my SS once.

82.82mi
13,188ft of climbing

Thursday: San Juan
Friday: Idyllwild
Saturday: Hemet to Idyllwild sufferfest
Sunday: Daley Ranch

Now for some photos. San Juan Trail:

Friday we rode Thomas Mountain - Ramona Trail with Ann and Andy, Nancy, Roger, and Tom.

Started out at Hurkey and saw Heather and Andy in the lot ready for an early morning, cold lap around the 24 hour course.

Almost there

Singletrack, at last

Roger was kind enough to play sweeper ALL day!

Saturday was our day to suffer, and that I did. For those of you who have read my blog, I don't need to tell the story again. For those that haven't, you can read all about my pain and suffering there.

It started out just fine

Climbing up through grapefruit orchards

Tumbleweed Alley

Long way to go

But, I've accomplished something

New rubber (perhaps it was my demise?)

I even broke out the 'Nut

Maybe I didn't nap enough

IF IT AIN'T MOTO... IT'S WORTHLESS

Where I just had to turn around... Justin said SUPPOSEDLY it is just about a mile to Little Thomas Mountain from here

I got to enjoy cookies on the way back, which made me feel sick to my stomach. But, for dinner we had Thanksgiving leftovers. Yay!

Sitting on the couch Saturday night I had little to no desire to ride Daley the next morning. I was feeling the days of riding. I couldn't ride my Enduro (blown shock) and wasn't sure I could handle the Dos again so soon.

Sunday was another day...

Sunday was a little ride at Daley, which we hadn't ridden in quite some time. Small group, but good people. It's difficult when you don't know half the crew and there are like 10 other mountain bikers climbing up right behind you. Unfortunately we lost BJ somewhere on the climb. I actually wonder if one of the other guys was really with our group? Didn't see his name on the RSVP list and I don't think he's posted

Odd.

I picked out my weapon of ultimate leg destruction - my SS - yet again for Sunday. I figured what the hell was a little more pain.

Staging

Early climb

The boys at the bottom of Cardiac

Making their way up

Burnt Mountain

The moment before Jon's demise

And, that's all I got for ya!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Now back to the grindstone. At least for another 4 weeks.

haha, so I guess he was there for a different ride Maybe the Trek warehouse ride as well? There were 3 other guys looking for that and they ended up doing the 1st part of our ride kind of tagging along with us.

Hope he had a good time!

I actually wore Breathe Right Strips a few nights, so doubt it was that bad

FWIW, you guys should join us one weekend for the ride. I honestly don't know why I couldn't handle it.. It wasn't as steep as Main Divide.. I guess it was just unrelenting and I wasn't prepared? But there are a few short DH sections on the climb. I'll try to post up the ride profile tonight.

Maybe, I know on the Trek Superstore website they were having a ride that day also. I told him what the website was but not sure if he would remember.
