Default SR: Snow Summit with Family and Diamond Dave!
I know some of the bubbs and bubbettes are also into the "snow" thing so here is our Snow Report from today's Snow Summit action.

Dave, Maddie, Traci and I went up to the cabin last night to partake in some fresh man-made snow!!

It was Maddie's big debut after last winter's lessons and she did phenomenal!

Here is the road to the parking lot, a little different look then 6 weeks ago when I was there!

She was able to link some pretty good turns, very cool especially with mommy next to her

She did fantastic today and we were so proud of her, she could not quit smiling!


Dave and I did some cruisers on the "miracle mile" run that was open, very good times!

I know ithis thread is not really mtb related but seeing as how Maddie is a part of the str crew, might as well post her other hobbies!!

There is talk of a newbie ride ala snow and wood so if there is interest, lets get it going!!

I didn't know there was snow already. I'm up for some snowboarding on a Sunday.
Do they still take bikes up to run the singletrack on the weekend while it's not naturally snowing?

I heard that white stuff is cold. I got to remember to avoid that stuff.

Snow Summit was still offering tickets to use the chair for a scenic tour or take your bike? up but we did not see any bikers on the roads behind the top chalet...the thought did cross my mind about riding up via the fireroad

For a moment I thought you'd hooked Maddie up with some studded tires for a little frozen mtb fun! Looks like a fun day.

She might remember the Ice Crits I used to race when she was 2 and 3 years old......average temp of 10 degrees, rigid set up, wood screws thru the tire with tuffy tube liners at 20 psi and a really big shovel or snow blower to "create" the course thru waist deep snow on a frozen lake, ah the old times!

No lycra but lots of layers and very little skin exposed. Imagine pedaling a bike with platform pedals, Sorel boots and mittens...it was a blast!!

Today was another one to remember! Nothing sounds better than Maddie saying "1 more run Mommy PLEASE?".

There were guys on bikes today, but the chair that takes bikes is now open for the winter season. You can still ride but you'll have to climb to the top yourself, no more lift assistance

I rode up Mill Creek to Skyline behind SS to Fall Line this afternoon. I was shocked to see snow on the ground this afternoon. I hadn't realized how cold it had been getting up here the last few nights.

I still have Hawaii on the brain.
