RR: Fully Loop/Tara Llanes ride
Lots of riders showed for this. There was the usual suspects, plus got to meet some bubbs from the LA area like Jeff aka "Hollywood" and Ron aka "Endo Verendo". Good riding with you guys. I camped out so I didn't have to drive home. Set up my tent and was pretty cozy.
Lots of riders coming through all day and night. Once it got dark, the crew decided to go out for a lap. 10 of us went including Monique aka "Pua". As we went through the golf course area, I heard a THUD and saw Pua on the ground, I asked "Endo" to get Ron, her hubby and Rut as they were already through the tunnel. Pua hit that hole just before the tunnel and went OTB. Shes landed on her face and laid there till Ron showed up. The crew as always took care of the injured. We weren't far from the campsite, so Dino and Ron went to get their truck. Pua is such a trooper, she even apologized because she thought she ruined our ride. I'm so glad she's ok. I went out later that night with Fred(mtnbikerfred) and Elvia(ezzyride) for a late night lap. We got back after 1am and the camp was quiet. Seems everyone went to sleep. I was tired too and I was planning on a sunrise lap so I headed to bed also. I woke up at 5am and it was freezing. I didn't want to get out of my toasty sleeping bag but I did. I rode with Bob, the winner of this event with 17 laps. When I got back, I had breakfast, hung out a bit, saw Neil and the boyz returning from their lap, then did another lap with Pat(CPATCRASH) and Justin(klutter). Later Jose(ShinKen), Kevin(xhuskr), Troy(ThinkFast) and a few others and I did 1 more. Total laps 7, miles 82.2. I'm pretty tired. I did it on the SS, no laps on the CX. I wasn't on planning on doing that many, but I felt good. Had I not started drinking or got there right at noon Fri, I would've gotten 9 laps in to go just over 100 miles. Oh well, there's always next year. Not much pics taken. Hopefully, others will post there pics. Thanks for a great time. |

Good times for sure Gene!
Felt EVEN BETTER knowing it was all for a good cause! Glad to finally meet HOLLYWOOD, Endo, Ron, and Pua!  Hope Tara will join us next year... the year after! Get well soon!

Fun times at the Tour De Tryptophan. I started yesterday with the intention of doing 1 Fully loop (my first) and it turned into a couple of fun days. I overslept this morning and was too late for a planned ride so decided to go back again today. Good times meeting everyone. Thanks Gene for the refreshments. Thanks Jose for showing me some of the extra credit on the loops we did yesterday and today. Next year I'll have to plan on trying to do as many laps as I can.

Riding 545 miles in June!
|
It was nice to finally meet so many OC peeps. Thanks to Gene for guiding us on our first Loop lap. Had a blast riding with..erm rather, listening to Andy and Dino B. How's Pua doing?

Yo, good ta see all my peeps and most important the ladies
 at the TDT. I had a blast wit my 'rents, but I gots tired of pushing their lard arses up dem darn hills. Let me tell ya round bout lap #3 they are getting mighty heavy with their big red bike. Its all good. It was a fun time and a good cause. It was cool seeing my STR drunks, er I mean peeps . Maybe next year I can ride my own rig, a f/s ss, maybe bust out 9 laps wit Gene. |

I had a sweet time this weekend!!
only did 5laps but felt great!! great to see all the regular catSS and cool to meet the new faceSS !! this was a cool event!! It turned out just great...want to give a special thanks to Neil and ChUm_PA Jason for hooking me up with the sweet kick ass demos!! it was freaking crazy to ride gears and fS again!! it has been a while  got to say that the EVO Jason hooked me up with was super sweet and was climbing like a goat!! I was flying on the down hilss like i had skills or something!! he really has it set up just perfect!! sorry for getting 2 flats on just one run!! I'll get ya a beer next time!!this was a special weekend for sure!! I got to meet the sweet but very tuFF Monique aka "Pua" (b4 the accident hope u get better soon )and even got to shake her hand! that was priceless!ne ways had a good time cant wait for next time see ya on the dirt ehh!

The crew ready to head out  The queen comes bombing out of the trees  Chuba Hubbie in tow  With a loud Thud we see Mudman appear rubbing his sore shoulder from the his first venture around the loop  Jose at home on his RIGID ninerSS  What the HUCK!!! it is still orange but the wheeSS SShrunk and it grew a set of gearSS  Hoosierdaddy ready to hit it  The rut filling his bottles with the proper sports drink  The saw a young man shutteling the loop  Neil shows up with his 2 toys..   Endo and Holleywood ready for their first adventure on the loop  It's a bird,it's a plane no it's Gene on a rigid SS 29er'  The mAyor of STR was simply Glowing when he returned from his loop  Good times for sure... Sorry I could not ride with you guys but the knee is still having issues and I am off to Ortho in the near future... I still had a great time hanging out...

I only got 3 in and ruined a brand new tire. I'm not really sure how the heck I tore my sidewall??? I went home to get the cross bike and got a ration of you know what, so considering I was doing an all day ride the very next day, I thought it best to call it a day.
Wow, If Pua can get taken out on the Loop, that proves it, anybody can. This world class rider (I'm not kidding, she's world class) can take a big hit at the Loop anybody can.I'm so very glad to hear she's okay. I read her website all the time and love reading about her races. She is the definition of mountain biking Core. Go Team Mata!!! http://www.teammata.com/

V.P. Kickstand Inspection

It was good time Friday and Saturday. I only rode 2 laps, 1 in the day light and one at night....I felt like I was getting over something, since I slept all day Thursday. Then went back on Saturday to cheer all the riders on and help Gene break down his tent. I was a great time and I'll be back next year for whatever charity they decide to support. I'll be in for more laps next year too. I can't believe that Bob did 17 laps, that's awesome.
I was great seeing everyone and seeing everyone supporting a good cause.
