Default RR: Sedona

Trails...Broken Arrow, Wildhorse, Llama, and Mystic.

Big thanks to Ko and Lee for joining me today...Broken Arrow is a tough trail for anyone and Ko was a trouper...never complained the whole day. Lee was dropping the big stuff with easy. The theme of the day was for Lee and I leave our forks in 100mm travel and forget to unlock them. Lee hit that 4-5 foot to flat hunk right below Chicken Point on Wildhorse. Did it twice and complain that it was tough on the wrists...like ya!

Lucky! Looks like you had a great day and some great trails. I've ridden Mystic & Wild Horse and loved them....even without locking my fork!

It was great running into you guys out there...we came down off Chicken Point and I saw a green Path jersey off in the distance...I just started yelling "Steppie!"

Sounds like the rest of your ride went really well...next time we'll all get out there together

Cold in the AM, cold when you were in the wind. Warm when riding...short sleeves.

Prescott was another story, my Satuday ride stayed in the 40's...But I would rather ride in the cold. Prescott was 24 when I woke up this AM...with the dry air in Arizona it does not feel that cold. It is great riding, even when it is very cold, after resting 5 minutes my hair and jersey totaly dry out, so the cold is much easier to handle.

Hey Dean, I went to do the Tara Llanes ride yesterday at the Loop and who do I see, but a guy from Prescott that we rode with during the spring fling. His name was Billy, do you remember him?

Ko and I returned from Sedona late last night. We had so much fun, and we were very thankful to have Dean join us and be a guide. We would not been able to ride such a cool trail without him.

This was the longest time that Ko has been on a trail, so I'm very impressed with her fortitude. Although I say she's still a beginner level rider, she still gives it all she has - and then some more. However, as expected she was really feeling the effects of her efforts the following day, so we skipped riding and just did a really nice hike.

Sedona is truly an epic ride, and I'll surely be back. We saw a family on the trails with the young son (about 10ish years old) who was rockin'! His mom stopped and told us the kid watches all of the mtb videos. The kid is so excited about mountain biking that he "pushed" the family to make the trek to Sedona from Conneticut!

Another family we saw hiking had two young girls, who were both about 7 or 8. They were so excited about seeing bikes on the trail, they kept telling their parents that they wanted to ride. They were so excited to see us, they chased us up the trail so they could watch us. And those girls were fast runners!

As Dean mentioned, I didn't realize that my fork was set in the 100 mm mode for both drops to flat (from the normal 160 mm setting). That kind of hurt! I never intentionally set it at that setting, but somewhere along the trail, I must have brushed my leg against the lever.

Thanks again, Dean!

Hey, let me think I'm getting younger!

After all, I sure feel like it when I'm riding in places like this!
