OMR, thanks for leading this ride. I was pretty impressed with the singletrack out there. The place has lots of twists and turns while maintaining great flow. I did not take many pictures at all today (Busy trying to keep up ) Here are a few:

The Warrior Society folks had a small contingent out there today as well. Here we are regrouping

While watching those guys work their way up a hill.

Some of the nice downs.

A not so nice up

Various folks from the ride.

With me living in North County San Diego this place is going to go onto my local ride rotation. I heard someone say this is one of Orange County's trail gems. I would have to totally agree. Thanks once again OMR for leading the ride today and all of the rest of the folks who made this a fun post-turkey burn ride..

Can't agree more... A very cool ride. Great group. Another testament to the success of STR. I only vaguely knew one rider, but that didn't matter, everyone was very, very cool and hospitable, thus creating a great riding experience.

Was great to be on single-track 95% of the ride. And the climbing, though present, felt benign. But, I now understand Gene's comment on the initial thread, "the continual ups & downs grind you". They did, just check me out in one of the shots above, pushing.... ouch! I think we only did 11 miles, but it wasn't easy.

Thanks for the ride guys, especially OMR for posting and leading.

p.s. OMR's leader pace was amazing...

Thumbs up

Glad everyone had fun... this is a good example of a lot of guys from MTBR.com seeing the post on STR and coming out and riding. Some of these guys like Mt Bike Bill and One Gear Queer (Eric) are regulars on MTBR.com... really enjoyed riding with them today.

Nice ride OMR. I see you brought out the geared. I would've too after doing San Juan on our SS. I wish I could've joined ya, but I was commited to doing laps at the Fully for Tara. Next time, Fo Sho.

Missed you yesteday... I set a pretty good pace from the start. I felt sorry for Foo as he was having trouble with his back (cramping) on the climbs ... several single speeders and everyone in pretty good shape. I was surprised that I was able to sustain the pace after SSing up SJT the day before. This is fast becoming one of my favorite places to ride in the OC.

Remember, I'm riding with you on the 2nd down to
SD.

Yep. Ron, I was even running my Sycip in the substandard-number-of-gears mode.

I've been thinking about heading up your way and hitting up those trails again. I have to tell you I was so damned impressed that such great riding was smack in the middle (literally) of town like that...

OMR's talk about all the other stuff out there so inspired that I got up early Sunday morning and we out of Solo snoop fest back here. While I did ride some of the stuff from Friday, I rode a bunch of other stuff that was simply freaking cool. I ran into Sir CrashAlot and Taylor at the top of what I think was Hully Gully? Ended up cruising the rest of the morning with them. All together it was about and 18-mile day. Feels like a lot more.

Taylor on "Hole Shot" or is it "Bridges"?

So many trails, names, twists, turns....This place looks small but the trails seem endless.

Bill and Crew, It's "holeshot". There was a sign at one time, but a hiker is now using it as a walking stick now. It gets the name from our race down the hill everyday to be the first on the trail. i.e: "He got the holeshot, and crashed at the first turn and blew out the burm, again"

I can also tell you how many people it takes to carry an oak bride 1/2 mile down a trail. That's another story though.

Anyone up for a lunchtime ride today? 11:35 dog park?
