I just want to take the opportunity to thank Pugz and all the STR guys (and galz) for making this a fantastic first event for me.

I realize how much of a newb I am, and how grossly out of shape I've become. But at the same time I never felt like I was out of place or holding anyone back. It felt very comfortable riding with the group, and I look forward to more rides.

Also I would like to say sorry to the girl I almost plowed into (following too close on a downhill singletrack not such a bright idea), Sorry for being a newb.

Watching Jojo own big red was pretty awesome. Great job Jojo.

Most of you guys missed out. The 2nd lap was more fun than the first!

as Duan said, she was not very happy when she reached the top and asked if we were part of the group that just went down. I let her know of the situation and promptly apologized for any problems that our group may have put on her.

I think we will need to remind everyone at the newbie rides that at any descent, we need to give the uphill rider the right of way.

Pugzie,

Thanks your rides have kept me riding. That is why I always say "thank you", I am sure you will get comfortable with "Momma" thanking you.

Jojo - He not only cleared "big red" he made it to the top of the hill before the single track. It was great - I'll never leave my camera in the car again.

Dirtdevil (is it dirtdevil?) - Also did as well as Jojo it was so much fun watching them.

Tim - Was also very impressive and Springrubber well that guy is something else.

Most important Alyssa and Julia made it to the top of Big Red on their bikes. Oh yes those girls can really kick arse. BTW - Alyssa only rides once a month.

Springrubber - Sorry! I can't help but tease you your g/f kicked your butt on the dirt.

2nd round was very fun!

PS. Dino I made it to the top of that darn hill.

-Elvia

Pugz, Dino, Nam and all the rest of STR vets, thanks for making it such a great experience for the newbies like me. Had a great time on the Peter's loop. As for the Pushahorse extra credit, I think my bikes suffering more than I am today. Can't wait to go on some more STR rides

Sounds like fun boys and girls, wish I could have been on that ride as well. I was in Bootleg.

That may have been someone else. I was following somone too close and almost ran into them (eating myself instead). But yeah, us newbs may need some rules refreshers.

I think that was Alyssa you almost ran into. It was at the hairpin turn on the singletrack yes? When I rolled up you were just getting up? On newbie rides it is especially important to give space because you never know who is going to get cold feet and when and BAM!! Glad no one got hurt. Since I am her boyfriend she chews ME out for everything!

Good to know you'll feel the wrath and not me, and yeah that was the place. I realized my mistake too late. Won't happen again I'm sure.

That was another awesome newbie ride, and another great turnout. Special thanks to Maddie for allowing us to be a part of her first ride, she did awesome and I am sure will be blowing past me in no time.

Dino -- I thought you weren't going to post that picture, you need your camera out when I accomplish something good since almost every time you take my picture I just look like a fat kid riding a pumpkin.

I will be posting next Sundays newbie ride later, it will probably be the fully loop again but if anybody has a preference let me know.

Great riding with everyone!
Jojo- still can't believe you climbed that hill!!!
Pugzie- The only reason I posted the pic is "you wouldn't listen to me" regarding that HUCK! It's called tough love! Let that be a lesson to ya'.......
