A late update...I rode late Tuesday afternoon (3:42) from the Ridge Park entrance, dropped into Deer Canyon, up to Bommer, down...something, up Willow, down Old Emerald, up the canyon, finished with Fenceline, and back to the car about 7 minutes after sunset (5:02). Happy to report no rangers looking to hand out "nightriding" tickets- and I only saw a handful of other riders/runners. Good times.
However, there are several unofficial trails marked with new "Keep Out" signs, and two others that have been blocked by rocks and sticks. Tickets are sure to follow, possibly closures, so be cool... |

Got a warning citation on Lizards Sat AM.
We were a 2nd group of 3 and all 6 of us got warnings for being on a closed, unmarked trail. Being on a closed marked trail would score you a $50 cite. FWIW

The ranger (OC Parks) also said they intend on getting the grandfathered trails legalized except for Marie Calendars --too close to the 73 easement. She emphasized never, never, never, for Marie.
I played the ignorant card, saying I've seen the new signage being installed at other trails and this trail was not signed. Thus the warning. I assume it will be signed, now. Doh. Yeah I feel kinda dumb. We all blamed the first guy. She was really cool, though, pointing out that the last guys (I was #5) could probably make it back up the trail by the time she got to us with the paperwork. She had very specific knowledge of LCWP only, and had no comment on other trails w/in Moro.

Why not never for Marie Calenders, that is an awesome singletrack that's about perfect for bike riding. Hell, we'll even do all the work on it if they'll let us. I don't get it???

She mentioned a) erosion [scapegoat] b)too close to the 73 easement with c) people getting "hauled" out of there every couple months.
I know I like that trail too.
