Default Tustin Area Road Ride

We all gathered at the McDonald's as requested. We secretly looked over each others bikes; I will hoping that someone was showing a hint that they were slower than what they appeared. Sorry folks this was my first hammerfest of the year. I know its November, but man it was "Bang" right from the start.

Hugh rode his fixie, CJWally was on his ti Airborne (I think... he was way out in front or I was being blinded by one of those new red tail lights on David's bike and couldn't see the frame) Frank was on his custom ti Seven and I rode a tandem with Heather. I would look at the speedometer and the only reading it would show was "zoom zoom."

What was supposed to be a casual ride was anything but that. The original ride was supposed to be from Tustin to Backbay and back. Well we got to Backbay and SOMEONE mentioned doing Newport Coast. Thanks guys. Heather and I struggled up that mother. Of course we had a blast descending the other side, but that is another story. Eventually we made it back to McDonalds.

The ride was a phenomenal time. Everyone worked their butts off and the conversations were great (and few and far between.) Thanks to Hugh for setting it up.

Thanks to everyone for showing up.

Default Missing Lung!

Awesome riding with you guys tonight! Should have known better and used EPO, with Hugh on a Fixie and Andy on a Tandem that is just a recipe for a "lack of oxygen blackout".

Andy..I checked when I got home. The Lung you found on the street. Did it look Asian? Cause I am missing one.

Awesome ride! I should have known better and not hammered to the start from my house, thinking we were just gonna cruise down to Balboa for some ice cream. I was done by the time we hit Newport Coast.

Thanks for organizing this one Hugh!

Great riding with you all as well David. Heather and I went to Wahoo's after the ride and neither of us could stop smiling. We had a blast and I slept like a baby last night. I can't wait for the next one. Now which bike should I bring???

Default Road Rage !!

I'm changing the name of the ride to "Road Rage Night Ride"
Dave, CJ, Frank, Heather, Andy, and myself seemingly felt the need to drop our hammers in the Mc dees parkinglot! My kind of ride!! Totally unexpected.
We waited for late commers till 6:15pm ish then bolted. We were on PCH before 7pm. We all took turns pulling on the front with Andy and Heather doing a fair amount(at first)... I think the real reason we took turns up front was to get away from David and Frank's tail lights. I think I now have retinal damage!
So we made a left and headed to Newport coast for a little hill. CJ took top honnors on the climb. After that we headed to some bike trails that were swoopy with little kicker climbs. Frank CJ and I were pushing each other to failure on this section! Andy and Heather would have been there with us but they stopped to pick up Frank's left lung! Got regrouped and headed back to the Golden arches. At a rippen pace I might add! The pace did Finally slow down when we got back to the cars.
Was a great Tuesday night road ride! Thanks!!

HUGH

Oh yea I said gears optional not mandatory!!

Frank, Hugh, Andy, Heather, and Dave......Nice to ride with you guys. I had a blast last night! I am still smiling...

If you don't set up another hammer fest ride I may go through withdrawals.
