Is that for both SD and up in OC in the Santa Ana's?

I wonder if this is going to impact our trail work planned for next Sat in Trabuco Canyon???? I've got an email into Chris.

I doubt it. I think they'll reopen after the Santa Ana's are gone, but they'll be quick to close them the next time they blow back into this area.

The CNF website doesnt say anything about it. Lets hope its just the district in SD.

He's probably just received emails and/or phone calls. I doubt the CNF is updating their site at night.

Mark is a member of SDMBA and wouldn't have posted the news without having a good source.

The San Bernardino National Forest and the Angeles National Forest are closed (see the column on the right).

They have not yet mentioned about the Cleveland National Forest, but I'm sure it will be posted when it's official (or until this web site gets notice).

ONGOING FIRES AND EMERGENCIES - INCENDIOS O EMERGENCIAS

There are currently four fires burning on or near the Cleveland National Forest. The Cleveland National Forest is CLOSED to the public and all activity until further notice.

The McCoy Fire is burning approximately 10 miles east of Ramona, Calif. and is 300 acres with 50% containment. One residence and one outbuilding have been destroyed.
The Witch Fire is located near the Cleveland NF, east of Ramona, Calif. The fire is approximately 164,000 acres with 1% containment and is being managed under unified command with the Cleveland NF and CAL FIRE. 500 residences have been destroyed, 250 residences damaged and 100 commercial establishments destroyed with an additional 75 damaged. 50 outbuildings have been destroyed and 50 damaged. 7 firefighters and 2 civilian injuries have been reported and mandatory evacuations of Scripts Ranch area are in place.
Also located near the Cleveland NF, the Harris Fire is located near Potrero, Calif. and is approximately 70,000 acres with 5% containment. 200 homes have been destroyed, 250 homes have been damaged. Currently threatening 2,000 residences and 500 commercial establishments. 20 civilians and 5 firefighters injured and one civilian death have been reported as a result of this fire. The fire is moving in a NNE direction toward the Barrett Lake area.
There is a new fire called the Poomacha Fire which is burning at Highway 76 in the Pauma Valley. The fire is currently at 1,000 acres with no containment. 8 firefighter injuries have been reported. 2,000 homes are threatened and 1 destroyed. Voluntary evacuations of entire Palomar Mtn. Highway 76 corridor; Northern portion of Valley Center, Deer Springs, Hidden Meadows, Pauma Valley are in place. The fire is heading toward the Lawrence Welk Community and the base of Palomar Mtn. and is currently threatening Palomar Mtn. Check with your local sheriff for evacuation information.
