Talking Great Trail Conditions - Peters/Irvine/Oak Hills

My ride started from my house at Prospect/Collins street in Orange this morning. I went over to Chapman then took Crawford Canyon to Newport Ave. From there I took the horse trials through Orange Hills over to the south end of Peters Canyon. Trail conditions were excellent and the park was open. Went north through Peters to Irvine Park. I ran into a little mud at the creek on my way to Blair Witch. After crossing creek trail condition continued to be excellent. But half way through Blair Witch it became a swamp so I tuned around before getting any mud on me or damaging the trail. I took some other single tracks on the way back to the creek crossing but really don’t know where I was. From there I took the fire road over to Oak Hills Regional Park exited the main gate and road the streets back home. All and all the trails where excellent and all three park were open.

As a side note my bike was great, even after getting stuck in the rain at Fullerton Loop on Thursday and having to hose all that nasty mud off.

That's the area in front of the dam on the Irvine park side. Or at least that's what people where calling it during the bikes and Beer ride.

It's a series of single tracks.

Thanks for the info. I was just trying to find a way from the bottom of the Chutes back to the 3 B's without having to go all the way back to Irvine park and then along that trail at the base of the Sepulcher cemetary. Figured Blair witch was maybe the a trail I saw cutting across though the tree back to the dam.

Dang Bomber... you live around the corner from me. I'm located right off of Prospect and Chapman (for now... moving in 2 weeks over near the circle). You should come hang out with the Taco Tues. gang at Peter's Canyon.

Hope to see you out there some time
